So, what's next?

Since they have apparently abandoned this title, what would ya'll like to see in the next Battlefield title?

Keep in mind this wouldn't be everything but a good foundation.

1. - I would like if it took take place in a modern or near future setting with multiple factions even if they're fictional, so nobody gets their feelers hurt.

2. - Persistent servers with a proper server browser and the return of community-run servers. (I never hardly EVER played on public servers if I could help it)

3. - Proper scoreboard with a better scoring system.

4. - Commander mode and classes. Anonymous soldiers no "Heroes"

5. - A ton of new maps and or re-mastered maps. On a side note, I myself would prefer a return of premium content rather than this "live service" crap since it hasn't really worked out so far.

6. - More game modes TDM, Hardcore, Air Superiority, Rush etc. etc. included with the game not some weekly "feature"

7. - More vehicles, weapons that are faction based with upgrades/attachments that actually DO something besides cosmetic.

8. - I would really like to see some of the most well-liked aspects of BF2 through BF4 (maybe a dash of some of the stuff from the Desert Combat mod from BF1942 gawd that was fun)

Anyway, just a few of the big things I could think of definitely not everything, but I don't want to get to in depth with this as I would love to hear your thoughts

EA/DICE has a severe and self-inflicted credibility problem for making any future Battlefield game a success.
With the now millions of burned customers out there, its hard to expect any of them willing to pay money upfront any time soon again for a game license. So that may leave them with only the Free To Play Option and making it viable by in-game purchases.
Other game studios may prosper instead from this EA/DICE Battlefield meltdown, if anyone of them gets the formula right.
What millions of players are longing for next is:
BATTLEFIELD - THE RESURRECTION !
And it should be the amalgam of BF3/BFBC2/BF4, so all the specs and requirements are already there...
What EA/DICE was supposed to have made of BF2042 but still managed to screw up so badly in all unimaginable ways.

i don't care how good it is. i'm sitting the next one out. it's kinda like voting in that if you don't prove that you are willing to withhold your vote (or in battlefield's case money) they have no incentive to change
**edit** i mean withhold your vote from the party you are aligned with if you don't like what they are doing so they can't just say "you have to vote for me because i'm not as bad as the other guy"

@Ironhead841 That would be my kind of game for sure. If the next BF had all those included I would be buying it.

It's pretty much what BF2042 could have / should have been.

I would add to your list - bigger and better squad options, in BF2042 I feel like I am a one man army most of the time.

Improved 2 way communication on the official forums rather than the wall of silence we have currently. DICE need to help build a community spirit by actually acknowledging feedback rather than ignoring it.

Personally, I do not want a remake of BF 3 or 4. I like the specialists abilities however everything designed around it is terrible.
Basically 2042 in the conceptual phase looked like exactly what i wanted.
- Serious tone. No cartoon like characters.
- A true BF game with all expected core elements like server browser, squad management, all chat, etc
- Maps that look war torn. More like the atmosphere of BF 1 that includes more immersive sound.
- Maps with the promised "next level destruction" and Levolution (yes, im a sucker for the BF events - scripted or not)
- Better vehicle physics.
- at least 10 maps. Some should be like closed quarters.
- More weapon options. The amount of weapons in 2042 is laughable.
- More ways of customizing your solider. Start with a plain solider but give us a ton of skin options.
- Maybe the maps have rotating day and night cycles. I dunno. Would be cool to play a map at night as well...
My wish list however it will never happen. Trust is destroyed and even if, i will never ever pre-order an EA game again. Ever.

The IP given to a new studio that's competent, and preferably one that actually gives a crap about the franchise and their community.
Give it to PopCap at this point, I have more confidence in them than I do DICE.

I wasn't really thinking a direct re-make just grabbing the stuff maps/map design that people liked from those titles.
As far as the specialists' abilities which ones did you like?
The wingsuit (if kept) I could live with if it was nerfed a bit, maybe if gravity was like a real thing.
The zipline would be ok with a longer cool down period if it only went down (gravity thing again) coupled with a grapple hook that went up.
The "shields" should take small arms damage that gradually reduces their efficiency with a fairly long re-spawn timer and be worthless to any artillery/rockets/ or tank shells
I hate the robot dog and the auto guns and Poke-balls, all shooting and spotting should be player-controlled on MiniMap only with the exception of the commander role (UAV and Artillery)
Angel's supply crate should be a commander asset
The specialist ability with the ESP/Wall-hack ability should go for same as above player-controlled spotting on MiniMap only.
Soldiers' skins/customization I personally don't care about too much I whole-heartedly agree with the rest of your list though!
