It keeps * me up, I use burst weapons alot or semi auto options. Rarely do I have full auto unless I'm expecting Point blank cqc.
On almost every gun I've used ill have my reticle right on the enemy and be between 25-75m and they can be standing still/laying down and none of my burst/single shots will hit them.
I've got a wired connection, and have a grip/silencer on most of my guns.
I don't understand it at all. I'll leave get multiple hitmarkers and watch someone die and not even get an assist.
I'll get 5/6 hitmarkers and get killed to find out i did like 6% damage.
its driving me up the * wall

@mihasha89Hit detection seems programmed to miss obvious hits ramdomly. That or engine made for 64 ppl use a predetermination function as a band aid to make up for the extra bandwith and resources 128 ppl takes. I wish they fix it, but that will most likely need a rewrite of basic engine functions to work properly or (i hope not) more slapon emergency fixes, functions that may bug out other things as they require more resources. I get that theres deadlines and a lot of money involved, but basic stuff like hits should be working from start in an FPS.

wow - i am not sure what things are better - i am sure that there are those too - thanks for them ! One thing for sure has gone worse is the hitregging. And this game is about shooting !
Not to mention mouse bug i had, and not able to join servers. Reload text stays static on the screen...
For heavens sake - are you testing the software before relasing it at all?
Game: Breakthrough SOLO COOP, Kaleidoscope (This info has nothing to do with the Hit Reg)
Weapons Tested: PBX-45, MP28, LCMG
Ping: 150-255ms (done on a phone hotspot, yes i was rubber banding and jumping about but its for testing purposes)
Notes:
1. Hitreg.. Worked extremely well on most occasions.. Sometimes id get random moments where i just got out of a reload and start firing rounds rapidly. Every single round prior to letting go of the trigger does not register. However allowing the gun to "breathe" makes it have the ability to obtain hitreg again. I was basically playing around with this with a mass of bots clumped together, understanding a bit how it worked.
2. Hit Reg appears to be apart of the Users In-Hardware input.. Or its done with extremely little data being sent. (?)
3. (QUESTION) Is the Client sending everything right? Or is the Client getting sent everything wrong? Like Blooming rounds hit the arm of a soldier, it splashes and hits multiple times on the user's screen.. but the Server doesn't see anything?
4. Grenades surprisingly are affected too with hitreg against soldiers.
5. Bots also have this error too surprisingly. I've seen a few times where bullets hit me, but do no damage.
6. Rounds are "Magnetic". I was shooting at the legs of a few AI Soldiers, and i was getting Headshot markers.. Or 1-2 Hit Kills. This was done with the PBX-45, LCMG, and MP28 and they received similar results, allowing me to get really rapid kills... However this just might be related to my ping,
7. Vehicles.. For what I've seen before this testing session, are NOT affected by this bug when it comes to On-Board Vehicle Weapons against Vehicles(MPAT-S,.50 HMG, 30mm Autocannon, etc) or Man-Portable Anti-Vehicle Weapons(C5, M4-Recoil, Fragmentation Grenades). Armor Piercing Ammo has not been tested for I am not a high enough level to play with it.
8. (QUESTION) DICE, if you do ever read this, could you explain (in dum-dum words, or summarize) how your Hit Registration works in BF2042 Compared to previous Titles?
9. On Orbital, Objectives C1-C2 is a bit lower than the outer water, and I think some invisible water source that was left in, and it leaves splashes everywhere when shooting at others. These splashes tend to completely void rounds being fired. (However, I only experienced this on Open Beta.)
This concludes what i know about the bug so far, Comment anything you think could be added toward the research of this issue, other than that, thank you for reading.
P.S. I love playing the game so far. I hope they keep the updates coming, It has great potential.Same issue on PS5 several times a day… ☹️

SVK is broken. (2042)
The SVK is only hitting in like 1 of 5 shots, even when the target is in the middle of the crosshair all the time. After the latest update It's almost impossible to use. It's like somebody has dropped the gun on the floor, and messed up all the sights. The SVK is already a slow fiering gun, so It need to be able to hit better then in the current build of the game. Please fix DICE

Summarize your bug Hit box issues. Taking cover behind fully solid objects and still being shot without any part of the body available to be hit.
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play multiplayer and while being shot at move behind fully solid cover and will be hit regardless of the cover.
What happens when the bug occurs? death
What should be happening instead? At most minor hits to health but never death while behind fully soild cover
There must be a lag in the hit box that registers hits even when the character is no longer visible and behind solid cover where light arms fire cannot penetrate.
