T1 requirements for specialists and gear need to be rebalanced.

All weapons have a 1,200 kill requirement for T1. For all primary weapons, that's extremely fair. For secondaries, especially the M44? Yea, that's a little much. Take it down like 200 kills at least for all secondaries.

So, Specialist T1. Angel has to revive and throw armor. He has to do it 4,000 times. That's a lot, but doable- because he can revive and resupply anyone. Also, each time someone uses his crate, he gets a resupply point.

On the other end, let's compare the T1 requirements for Sundance to Mackay. They both have to perform their thing 1,200 times. But Mackay's is only limited by height requirement. He can do it with any weapon. Sundance? Well, she can only do it with grenades. The game balance of grenades having to recharge is fine, but the requirements to get kills and assists with is not. Scatter grenades can't follow a target, and you have to get lucky that your opponent can't move or you funneled them in a kill area. Most of the time you need both scatter hits to kill. Then, there's the homing grenade which is just plain broken: 1. if you damage a vehicle and someone else destroys it- you aren't getting an assist. 2. There is no way to know where the grenade is going to go- which needs to be fixed. Another problem is that you can't use grenades as a 1 - 2 punch to get the requirement. For instance, you can't hit someone with a grenade and finish them off with a gun. Or, in other words you can't get your own assist.

800 shield kills for Dozer is a bit much. Most maps have a tiny amount of cqb areas and even then, hoping to close in on an enemy as Dozer is tough.

Then, there's gear. 4,000 assists and spots for SOFLAM? That's fair. 4,000 spawns on an insertion beacon? That's just totally absurd. Only teammates can spawn on your beacon. That's up to 3, assuming you have a full squad.

  • I kindly disagree with most of your input.

IMHO, T1 must be difficult to acquire and need to require some grinding, otherwise everybody will have everything too soon and it will lose it's purpose.

The harder the mission, the greater the achievement it will be for the players who get them. Keep grinding!

@TTV_AndrosAGAIN There is an example of bad masteries in BF V which makes you play gun's weakness and just get lucky. Not all of them but some are just ridiculous.

Yes, but not all grinding is equal and that is the point of the OP.

T1 for Casper/Rao/Mackay does not equal with tier 1 for Irish. The numbers do not reflect the difference in difficulty due to the abundance/scarcity of ways to progress these masteries.

@UP_HawxxeyeA good example is the dozer mastery vs angel or falck mastery.

Angel and Falck progress theyr mastery by actually doing something that contributes to the team, dozer need to shieldbash enemys which either requires you to sneak up behind enemys and leaving your squad/team or jumping of high buildings to surprise enemys and shieldbash them.

A much more fitting mastery for dozer would be that he gains mastery per fixed blocked numbers, let’s say each 30 bullets = one mastery point.
Irish should also gain masterypoints per blocked bullet from his deployable cover and not only from his sentinel, playing some kind of suicidal grenade defuser.

sundance, dozer and Irish are the most tedious one, but it feels somewhat good if you completed them becouse those defenitely don’t have everyone.

@BolvardYes, it is dumb that what Dozer and Irish are best at, does not contribute to their mastery. Their mastery seems to be made for some OP cluster map that the game does not yet have

As about Sundance, the problem with her is that 1 grenade does not count, one does not go for ground vehicles if there is a single aircraft in the map and the last one is not good for the open maps of BF2042.

I had to do some insane brute forcing to get Sundance to tier 1 to get the outfit that hides her silly smile and makes her look actually cool while she is not speaking.

But it was a really painful path
