I will certainly not pre-order a new bf after this epic failure they call a Battlefield game. After all this time it's still unplayable, the strangest kills, absolutely NO balance whatsoever, after EACH update they broke the game with useless changes instead of making what players want: server browser, servers, more and way better maps and all stuff which made bf in the past such a great game.

At this point ,they would have to promise us a new BF4 the way BF4 was at the end of its extended support cycle.

Been playing since BF1942, absolutely not pre-ordering.
DICE have made it very clear that they have no idea what they are doing.
From the initial direction (what ever the hell it was) to the inability to design maps and balance weapons and vehicles.
My best gaming memories are playing Battlefield with online friends chatting on Discord (or TeamSpeak!) but BF2042 really feels like the middle finger to the remnants of its community. - sk1lld2 years agoLegend
The funny part "if you want to call it funny" is that I have been unable to play due to "Unable to load persistence data" for 3 weeks now "AT&T customer". And you want me to pre order their next game?
Bah!

Bingo.
I didn't even pre-order 2042, I got a key to use with my video card. The only thing that has kept me with the game is a few other folks that I play(ed) with regularly - most have stopped. If not, I would have been done 10 or so hours in.
The next game will have to check all those boxes plus have timelines/planned content releases FAR exceeding the mediocrity (if it even hits that) of 2042.
By the way, a belated congrats to you and @RayD_O1 for getting champ status.

I will 100% base my purchasing decision on the beta.
Thank ya sir!

Thanks man I really appreciate that. 👍 There is no reason for me to commit to a pre-order this early without even knowing what the product is. I am however a Battlefield player to the core as there aren't too many other PVP experiences in gaming that motivate me to want to play them. However I don't think that the developers behind this series do enough to encourage team play and overall competitive environment for their many game modes. There are too many Breakthrough matches where people are avoiding obvious strong defensive positions around the objectives in order to stay safe and keep padding those stats. Stat padding culture seems to be where this series is now, and I am not really feeling it.
The current progression system is all useless challenges and unnecessary fluff. Winning the game modes is not a priority for the devs or the players, and if that does not change for the next game. Then a pre-order is very unlikely from me. While I still enjoy playing BF2042 at times and often get the urge to play it. Whenever I do play I feel like I am wasting my time because teams usually have zero focus or path for success within the game mode that they are playing.

No. For sure not. I would try a beta if there is access without pre-ordering. As so many others I also have some „legacy“ features on my list. If those are not there from the beginning, I won‘t buy.
