The Question of Aim Assist
Okay, I'm finally putting this here, because I am really, really at a loss. How powerful is the console aim assist? From my POV, it might as well be a legalised aimbot. Currently, I have to resort...

The aim assist code was broken for 9 months, but DICE didn't know the code was broken so they kept buffing aim assist settings for 9 months thinking that would fix it.
Finally a game developer from Ripple Effect Studios fixed the broken aim assist code, but it's unclear if he also rolled back 9 months worth of aim assist buffs DICE made or if he left all the buffs in place and they suddenly started working once he fixed the code.
Check out the video below and decide for yourself if aim assist buffs were rolled back or not.

Those previous 'buffs' never really did much. A few thousand hours playing with the BF1 and BFV aim assist tells me that that current BF2042 aim assist is in the same ballpark.
This idea that the BF2042 aim assist is now 'over' buffed doesn't match my experience. In BF2042 I only started using the SVK after the 1.2 patch. My accuracy with that gun is currently at 39% again that's all with this supposed 'super' aim assist. In BFV with the Model 8 (a comparable gun) my accuracy was 54%. In BF1 again with the Model 8 my accuracy was 47%. Even the Seb 1916 which is a spammier gun my BFV and BF1 accuracy numbers were 40% and 45%.
The current BF2042 aim assist does not feel like it is outperforming the BF1 and BFV aim assist. And my accuracy data certainly isn't indicating that the BF2042 aim assist is better than what's been the standard for the past six years. You may not like the 'standard' aim assist, but whether you realize it or not you've been playing against this level of aim assist since at least BF1 when going up against controller users on PC.
