We know that the sole purpose of these lights existing is to distinguish friendly players from enemy players. And that's because there are no unique faction skins in the game.But lets be honest, they look very goofy. Why would soldiers run around giving out their position to their enemy with bright lights? There are so many times where I've killed enemies just by noticing the bright red light on them, while they think they are hidden. It makes any camo useless. So what can we do? Simply turn them off on the enemy team. Keeping the lights active on friendly players alone is good enough. Ofc, it would be a lot better if we had faction specific skin colors at the very least, but we know that's most likely not gonna happen.

@Stella_x_Sin No, it's good game design. It let's you differentiate between enemies and friendlies very quickly and easily. It's a video game, not a simulator. I'm here to play a shooter and be able to see people, not strain my eyes all day.

Let’s face it, the friendly Doritos over your team mates heads often disappears making them unrecognizable from a foe.

Remember the beta where it was impossible to tell friend from foe so everyone ran around shooting at team mates and enemies?I'll take the Xmas lighted soldiers over the beta chaos any day...Just wish we could have kept Santa Boris...🙌

@Stella_x_Sin I agree , it is so stupid. It is because of no faction skins. Those who think it too hard to see players without are casuals. I like it hardcore but this game has made hardcore mode impossible because there is no way to tell friend from foe except with a gigant glowing * on their backs.It is not good game design, it is a lazy sollution to a core problem.

@Stella_x_Sin The reason for the lights is that Dice was unable to render characters that didn’t disappear into the background clutter on the screen. It didn’t start with lights, that was added after nobody could differentiate players. It’s also as both teams get the exact same character models to play so you can’t tell friend from foe. Let’s face it, the friendly Doritos over your team mates heads often disappears making them unrecognizable from a foe.

It seems to happen frequently with spawn beacons too.

@Stella_x_Sin No factions or distinguishable armies that wear different gear. Everyone is fighting a clone of themselves on BF2042 that pretty much wears the same thing, so we need something to tell everyone apart.

See, specialists were always going to be problematic on 128/64 player games.
