The seasons were 12 weeks, now they're 14 weeks. Why? The seasons are too long for the amount of content were getting. This was the length of time between most DLCs in past battlefield games. Difference is now, were getting 1 new map, 1 specialists, 1 vehicle, 1 gadget/throwable, and only 2-4 weapons. If this is all we're going to get per season how about cutting the season time in half to 7 weeks or even 8 weeks. This will help retain players and keep the game fresh. Players tend to start dropping off a month in but I know that'd be pushing it Also, map reworks, vault weapons, and mid season cosmetics don't count as new content and the vast majority of players don't care about that content. Only new content.

Personally - I don't actually understand what you are saying.As a consumer of this game I see very bad maps with guns being added I will unlikely ever use. That new thing that is coming on the 11th - I am on holiday for a week and I have no interest in 8v8, what a total waste of time and resource. Where are you going to get 8v8 pug that can cooperate on the level it seems to indicate you need?So maybe a couple of hundred clan players?Battlefield 2- no seasons, just some - ill advised - DLC, yet maps you couldn't wish more from.Seasons are some hybrid contamination of consoles/microtransactions that I have no interest in and couldn't care less about, yet I would expect generate the $ from the mug player base that keeps paying out for them. The continuing decline of the gaming market since 2012.When they finish these seasons I can see this game not having one notable or classic map. Adding only one new map in 14 weeks is killer for me. That is just too little. Even if they didn't do 4 new maps, at least add two per season.I still have the odd sense that all the content we have seen so far was originally for Season 1 (4 maps, 4 Specialists, etc) and you would gain access to that content over 12 weeks in the Battle Pass. That's why Season 5 will probably just have a new map and some Portal guns, and that map is being developed now. This has been one big ruse. Once EA told them to dump the title (December of 2021), they had a skeleton crew of junior developers literally learning how to code on the fly. The end product shows that level of expertise. Everything in the game is clunky and unrefined. Has anyone else noticed how quiet they have gotten since the last EA earnings? It is like a replay of last year, yet we are actually in an active season. They at least mentioned BF2042 in the earnings call:"Net bookings for the third quarter were $2.3 billion, down 9% or 5% in constant currency, driven largely by a tough comp as we lap the launch of Battlefield 2042"

I believe it was to get to a full year (52 weeks), 12, 12, 14, then 14 equals 52. Probably should've done 13 if they wanted to do 4 even ones, or 12 with a one week break after every season.

@halo572 The seasons were 12 weeks for s1 and s2, now there 14 weeks. For what we get 12 weeks was already too long why extend it?? As for the bf3 maps that is 1 of 2 battlefield titles were I absolutely loved every map (and I played on console). I was a big fan of operation metro but it was not my favorite. I'd have to say in base game my favorite was grand Bazaar and Tehran highway. Then my favorite dlcs maps were Marked Monolith and Ziba Tower.

@DigitalHype I feel like the amount of content in bf1 was adequate and even bfv wasn't this bad. This is a down right insult to the players, fanbase, and veterans of the franchise.

@Adamonic Your logic does make sense. Even they needed to do it for that reason then they should've put more content into each season to keep it fresh and fun for the duration. I have tier 1 each season by week 8, by then I'm literally disgusted with the game and leave it for the next 4 to 6 weeks, go back to a previous battlefield game and wait for the next season.

I honestly don't mind the long seasons. I just more stuff trickled into them during the length. I want more guns to unlock and play with
