@WedgeTornadoIt's for sure cool looking in game. I agree, it doesn't add to the gameplay though. It's kinda just there and annoying. Try not to get sucked up into for the most part avoiding it. If you do happen to get caught in it, there's no real consistency to getting out of it or being damaged by it. The only person that maybe benefits from it is Sundance.
Weather like fog, heavy rain, sandstorm, snow, etc gives concealment and a chance to move without running cover to cover. That makes sense. The tornado, not so much. - @WedgeTornado I still see people running up to it to take a ride.
- ATFGunr4 years agoLegend@WedgeTornadoI’ve seen it have an effect a few times, mostly on Breakthough. It’s saved defenders by blowing though at a good time near the end, and I’ve seen do the same and benefit the attackers. Gernerally speaking, it’s a waste. I’ve thought of the perfect purpose though. Halfway though the map, the tornado comes and goes to the highest scoring player. Once it gets there, it can keep going and out. I’d love to see it chasing the top dog lol. A good player could probably use it to their advantage, so it’s both a hazard and a benefit. Would be fun.

In games that were unbalanced and the defenders or attackers had a clear advantage, it can certainly help level the field a bit. Particularly on Renewal, if either side has air superiority it blasts through an objective and basically resets the area.
I like it *shrugs*

if this were bf3 or 4 these weather events would dynamically change the design of the map....flooding, downed skyscrapers/structures, crates being tossed around. but 2042? nope. I agree. anticlimactic.
Tornado does diver play. That being said, I think it is useless
Although, my favorite spawn death was spawning inside a tornado

According to former DICE General Manager Oskar Gabrielson, an entire team worked for 3 years building the tornado into BF2042. Personally, I think that time could have been better spent bringing back legacy features like a server browser and persistent lobbies.

1000% this. ! The tornado is the only time that I feel anything worthy of using the dual sense controller in this game that is not an explosion.
