They really should of put in a timer (like an out of bounds timer) for vehicles to prevent them from camping in their spawn base camp. This would definitely bring the Wildcats out and make it a fair fight.
- Lady_One2 years agoNew Ace@PrecisionWing The 30mm has massive spread, where past ~300-400m you will deal chip damage. Having the 30mm shots vanish past 550m will not change much other than make it so aircrafts stop taking random chip damage, making engagements more sane. The 35mm, which also has much much farther range than that, is unchanged.

DICE don't care. They care more about being fanboys for twitch sweat night bird players than balancing their game.
Just look at the new map, it's supposedly "inspired by Karkand" and is 'close ground combat'.. and yet they still put the night bird in it.
While nerfing the Wildcat's guns again. When the Wildcat AA already can't win against helos.
- Hudson15312 years agoSeasoned Ace@PrecisionWing Glad they removed the 40mm cannon too many using it for anti vehicle and infantry leaving the air to have a field day.
I think the increase in rotation speed will help for the jets/helis that do a low swoop.
Reducing the range will balance on the small maps like spearhead but on the large maps like orbital, hourglass manifest it’s going to be terrible.
I have just started to use AA I find a good spot, use Irish drop aps and hope for the best.
If AA had APS it would prob even up the field - Hudson15312 years agoSeasoned Ace@NehkidGramma84 Hence why they dropped the range, the AA can still camp in spawn but it’s not going to be effective at all.

Unless it can actually shoot up now the rotation doesn't matter.
Trying to use a Wildcat against a nightbird is impossible, it takes you down to 20% health in it's first pass, then hovers above you, and you can do nothing about it before it kills you.

The Nightbird feels so OP to me. I have a hard time taking that thing down

@GrizzGolfLast night I was playing and picked the railgun tank to shoot a few pesky enemy vehicles. After I did that, I manage to get a hit on a night bird circlestrafing our infantry.
No kill.
Not long after I plinked a jet flying in a predictable straight line.
No kill.
Apparently shooting what I assume is a tungsten or depleted uranium sabot dart into a fragile air vehicle at hypervelocity isn't enough to kill it these days.
Use the wildcat for AA was just as useless. It can't out DPS an attack helo, it can't shoot high enough to hit a little bird and the first pass wrecks your turret so you're a sitting duck. It didn't help that the server owner had got rid of the boris trophy system (if only they'd got rid of the helos as well) so I couldn't even "camp in spawn with boris" (that doesn't work anyway) because air doesn't care about spawns. Using a machine gun with anti-armour rounds did nothing to a stealth helo either but give it information to turn around and bomb me three times. Stingers would just cause them to use a flare and fly slightly away then come back 10 seconds later until you run out of missiles (thank you dice for nerfing the supply box so you can't play that character and take a missile launcher). So I ended up going back to what I've always had to do to try and fight these OP death machines. Firing a Liz Missile and preying they don't magically turn anti-grav star trek and warp upside down and inside out to avoid the slow * missile. I did at least make one of them rage quit when I hit their night bird with the TGM.
@MackTKauYep, DICE really doesnt care about the competitive vehicle meta. Resulting in skewed matches where the helis always come out on top. DICE is worsening the already bad balance in order to improve their small vehicle maps for some reason. DICE is taking the lazy/low-effort approach to many problems in BF2042.
Probably because DICE is short handed and underfunded. Or... they simply dont care.@Hudson1531Jets will kill the Wildcat from up high, Wildcat cant even do enough damage to them while the jets can bring them down to 40% hp minimum (this is with the coming -15% reduction in damage to armored vehicles) while doing a loop and returning with another full stack of rocketpods.
Wildcat could fend off this tactic with it's AA missiles, but that loses it's range on the Y axis now so Wildcat cant lockon to them from that range now.
DICE has lost it.
