Vehicle campers

Years later I still find it rather ridiculous that enemy vehicles can just take pot shots from areas that would normally be out of bounds for the time team - this works both ways and is pretty difficult to defend when you can't find a chopper.

Damage should be nullified before a certain point to force people to be more aggressive. I absolutely hate when people camp the far edges and immediately retreat when they take a single point of damage so a new Out of Bounds line should be created once they reach the combat zone, with the timer reducing each time they cross that line until they eventually self destruct

  • @TTZ_Dipsy Having to drive all the way back to your base to rearm meant that the tank at some point had to leave the area which was kind of the point. And if you were driving one of the slow heavy tanks that would take you out of the action for a period of time.

However in reality you would try and rearm at a closer ammo station but if it was close to the enemy or in an enemy cap zone then it was a risky move.
  • I agree vehicle camping is an annoyance.

    But it's not new.

Sometimes they are just new to the game, and don't understand the goals of capping and supporting the team.

Perhaps a constructive answer lies in better rewarding team play and support towards capping...

  • It's not so much armour, hit points or damage output on tanks, thats ok-ish. Specifically its the horrible acceleration and turning speed and ridiculously slow turret. It takes 6 seconds to do a 360 and an enemy can throw and detonate 3 c5's before you can turn it 90 degrees. By design tanks are now placed to the rear of the front line or infantry, everything about them and their mechanics forces them there.

Then there's c4 drones that just received a speed buff.... if they aren't directly in front of your main cannon rarely can you do anything about them unless you already happened to be going in the opposite direction by luck, you cant accelerate away from them unless you see them come in from miles away, nor can you track your turret fast enough to hit them coming in from the side or rear. tanks are in a bad place, yes they are powerful and yes you can get 100kill rounds but they aren't fun anymore nor are they very effective at punching through the front line for the rest of the team.

Probably because it’s boring gameplay staring up at heli’s waiting for a lock.

And getting sniped/flanked while at it.

Every single time that I try to support my team by designating or locking on to some dangerous air vehicle that spams explosions, some random soldier is ready to take advantage of me being more exposed to avoid line of slight issues.

Campers may be limited if developers wouldn't give them unlimited ammo, just like they did at BFV.

The limited ammo made camping worse because people had to be tethered to to the ammo stations

  • I really dislike the campers that sit on buildings and wait for people coming out of the elevator where you die instantly. I don't think Dice intended to have that happen and it is annoying but i doubt it's fixable unless they block drops from landing on roofs.

I mean, if they are causing annoyance to the enemy team then they are supporting their team. So I don't see it as "being new", just choosing different approach.

Another point is if it should be possible, and here I would say that vehicles have too less of a bullet drop which allows them to snipe from far away. For example, Bolte 30mm flies like a 12.7mm bullet.
