Was the Specialist system created to sell cosmetics?
This sounds like something out of R6 Siege or the newer CoD games, not Battlefield.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it." They are balancing the gameplay based on this system rather than the Class/Kit system, which was in BF since 1942 and has been perfected. I would be more than fine with having more new classes, like in BF2, but this isn't quite the same thing. it sounds like they are balancing the game based on potential microtransactions, which worries me greatly.
If everyone is able to equip launchers with any gun, why wouldn't they? This unbalances the game and you are no longer making trade-offs when deciding to play anti-tank or anti-infantry. That means vehicles will have to be made even stronger to accommodate this new "freedom," otherwise they will be destroyed in seconds when facing 64-man teams who are all equipped with launchers.
It's too bad because I like the idea of sectors (on paper anyway), but the Specialist system strikes me as a cash grab that could potentially ruin the game. I don't want to customize my soldier - they should all look alike, especially if there are only 2 factions! Just having different camo patterns is enough, stop trying to sell me more things to go with your $110 game. I realize that there is almost no point in complaining about this, but I just wanted to make my thoughts known anyway. Thanks for reading.
