There's K&M on PC and aim-assist on Console. I for one see BF games as exercises of reflexes and tactical positioning (and wise choice of weapons for playstyle).

You need both, recoil and spread to balance weapons. No spread means you get beamed over ridiculously large distances by all players that can control recoil -- as well as by console players that have less recoil to begin with and have also 'help' with that part by using aim assist.Spread should not be there from the time you fire your first shot but it should increase gradually and spread has to reset once you stop firing. If implemented correctly, this makes firing a more skillful thing as you have to do both, control recoil as well as burst with intervals determined by the distance to the target (and your weapon as well as attachments that affect recoil used).Post patch you have still many AR that work very well. I am now running SCAR-H and getting killed a lot by RM68, so this one is still good (not overpowered as before though).And until they get nerfed you can still use LMGS as substitute for ARs (just with a much higher bullet count -- well, and longer reload, if you live that long).

I don't know, I kinda like not getting lasered from across the map all game.I hope they apply the next change to lmg/smg separately and not a general "fix" to both. In my opinion, lmg need the bigger fix. They seem to be more accurate than ARs right now which I find annoying.Personal opinion

Spread in BF-games has a tendency to feel weird and only BFV had things working pretty ok. 2042 felt like 'laser-beams' (still does for some weapons), but this made weapons too efficient at range (IMHO).I have been playing BattleBit a lot and really think that the gun-play in 2042 should be more like that (with a higher TTK). BattleBits burst-firing feels really good and the gun-play is rewarding. Having higher recoil, instead of just alot of spread, seems like a good solution.If Dice could make an improved version of BF4s gun-play, burstfiring with less spread and more (perhaps partly random) recoil. We still want our gun to shoot where the gun aims, instead of 'bullets flying randomly everywhere'.

Remove the spread. Focus on fixing the plethora of bugs and issues
All us AR users agree. They sort of made it better the last patch but when the SMGs and LMGs get it watch out....

Weapon spread is a disaster and needs to be removed, there should be no penalty for good aim that just doesent make sense.

Recoil takes skill to overcome, spread has no counter and weapons are FAR from lasers in this game IMHO.

With Skill on this. Remove it or add it to all the weapons now so we are all in the same boat. Its a LMG/SMG nightmare for us AR users

@battlejoke I think it would help if you mentioned what weapons you're noticing spread being bad on.

The Vault AR's seem to be fine in my experience.

@sk1lldI agree with what you say re. recoil and spread. Previous BFs were better in this respect, granted.
When comparing, say, with BFV, I'm still shot at distance with odd precision in 2042. In BFV I expect to be downed at a distance by SARs or Sniping weapons. In 2042 I've seen it all.
The problem with adding recoil is that it makes the gaming experience less friendly to new entrants to the franchise. New players pick up the game, experience the recoil and then uninstall.
Note how DICE seems to have been summoned by EA to produce a BF that caters to those more inclined to a CoD experience (dare I even say Fortnite) as these games have been minting all the way to Switzerland.
