why are people so wrapped around the axle on not allowing the flexibility that we have now and insisting on restricting the playstyle of others? people can set their loadout however they like so they can play in the framework of a traditional class if they want to. why do proponents of classes want to force that on others? is it really that important to you to know someone is an engineer even though they may be running AT mines and a repair tool and not rockets? what if the support is carrying a mortar and claymores and not ammo. what does seeing their class really do for you? it doesn't tell you what they can do or what they are carryingplease explain to me what you actually GAIN from classes, because i can only see what you LOSE by having them

Since you started this post, I guess that from your point of view specialists are better, but keep in mind you're the minority judging by the player base the game has atm.If you want my 2 cents on the issue here it is. I hate the gadgets they have and the game feels like a hero shooter with all the wingsuits, grapple hooks, turrets, wallhacks etc. I hate the fact that they used them as a lazy design choice to have a laughable weapon pool instead of building a decent one for every class and it feels stupid seeing the same copy paste specialist face when fighting, at least with classes you had generic soldiers. I could go on but what's the point?

@Psubond Classes are one of the three bedrock pillars of Battlefield that makes Battlefield what it is since the very first Battlefield 20 years ago. Classes are an integral portion of the paper/rock/scissors balancing that made Battlefield balanced and predictable that 2042 completed eschewed. It is impossible to balance every permutation of hero/weapon/gadget that the community can come up with; it's far easier for DICE to balance weapons/gadgets around classes with their restrictions due to the aforementioned tradeoffs. Classes prevent people from being a jack of all trades, it encourages weapon and gadget diversity because you have to choose between a specific weapon type and a specific role instead of everyone running the meta hero/weapon/gadget to be a lone wolf like you see in 2042 and Warzone. Overall it makes for a healthier more team oriented experience.The real question is if one doesn't like Battlefield why play Battlefield and demand that the formula change to be something else when other games do what 2042 is copying much better?

I am sure you have already read my response to this before but to me, classes feel so restrictive now. Also I hardly even noticed what the enemy even looked like. I have always looked for the red icon above their head. Oh, look a red icon I will kill him now. I think they use the class's excuse to fuel their argument. It is like people keep saying there is no cover on the maps when we all know there is plenty of cover.

@Man_iLoveFishing i've looked through it and i can't find an argument other than "i don't like it". i think people are just control freaks and want to force a specific set of rules on people *which you can already do in portal*

if they want to rework specialists to get rid of the stupid one liners and rework the cosmetics fine, i encourage that, but the player's ability to play to their strengths is fully realized with the freedom to pick your weapons and gadgets (at the end of the day specialists are just a gadget slot)

I don't think there is a better argument than "I don't like it".
Now the reasons may vary but the end result can push away a community.

@OzzLink well, they did also sell 4 more specialists to people and they already have the money. if they don't deliver they will get sued (class action) if they don't refund the money.
