@Dsmilees I pretty much assume, you really believe that, and that is actually sad.
The Recon with a sniper rifle that camps 500m from its squad mates, is as bad as the Specialist with a sniper rifle that camps 500m from its squad mates.
When the Recon gets harassed by a helicopter, he maybe dies, and spawns on his spawn beacon. The Specialists can do the same, or he can bring his AA rocket, and most likely not kill the Helicopter with it, but he won't spawn at that spot again.
The issue you have is purely and alone with the Specialist named Angel.
That one needs some drastic fixing. My suggestion is, the Revive Team-mates ability needs to be stripped, and the provide Armor ability needs to be limited to himself and his squad.
You only have one gadget to choose from, you can't change your perk.
I believe the people that vehemently promote BF3 classes are also the players that didn't like BF4 much. And I assume the reasoning behind this probably the same. In BF3 each class brought a team supporting gadget.
Like the team member reviveable defibrilator, ammo crate, spawn beacon or an anti-vehicle weapon, so you could be sure, that 1 in 4 people brought the gadget you expected.
This all went away with BF4, since everyone was no longer 'forced' to bring those items. I think about the Assault with an underbarrel grenade launcher and medpack, or the Support with M18 Claymores and MP-APS, or the Recon with T-UGS and pokeballs.
And with BF2042 it is now even more unlikely that anyone brings the "standard gadgets".
Everyone that plays their class outside the "norm" is a "lone-wolf", and that includes the BF4 spec-ops recon with silenced carbine, sneaking behind enemy lines and capturing flags on its own.
