Why are thermal sighting missing ???

Why in year 2042 ( bf2042) there are not hundreds of thermal sights, Infrared sight, computer balistic scopes, iluminated reticles ? Why the tanks are performing worst than tanks in BF4. Where are the attack drones, small medium, large, swarms ? Why all WEAPONS ARE * ???? Why you don`t get rid of the sector thing that was a crap in bf1. Why i cant get a vehicle from the base ??????

And most important why there is not a single player for a paid game ? And why you put that apex * with grapling hooks, there was a robot doing that SF crap. How a female wearing 20kg of guns and ammos can just fly upwards with a grappling hook or glide a jump suit??????... If you deploy a grapling hook you must change the gear first not travel like Tarzan in the jungle.

Where are water maps and combat boats? Where are night maps? Why i can`t swim underwater ? OMG

Where is artillery? Where are ther bombers ? Where is the attack system? Where is the commander? Why the minimap are not resizeable? Why have u done this to the francize fans?

  • @IIIbogymanIII The absolute last thing the game needs is something a skilless as thermal optics. May as well remove all forms of cover and camouflage if they were introduced.

The only way that thermal type optics (vehicle or weapon) woulf work, imo, would be to have their view lessened so they can only see 200m (w/e makes sense). They also should not work in broad daylight or have very little ability.

This game is broken enough without them though. I'd rather them not show up.

@cso7777And now that person knows that there is some one on that flag before it starts buying.

Also consider that Claymores remain unless detonated or a '4th' one is placed making the '1st' one despawn.

Claymores only annoyed the careless and unaware. Anyone who used them extensively also knew where to expect enemy ones so took steps to avoid them.

Pick any aspect of the game that someone finds fun, others will find it annoying. That in and of itself is NOT a valid reason to remove that thing.

On topic though, thermal sights encourage a reciprocal type of play in that the only way to counter thermals is to use thermals and that makes play boring.

Zavod night map was totally spoilt by campers with thermals.

@Trokey66 BFV and BF1 proved that claymores can become a big problem that dumbs down gameplay, both games ended nerfing them pretty hard.

But ok, in the end "claymores" in both BF1 and BFV worked ok and did only one-shot-kill you if you ran into them.

I "fear" for their introduction to BF2042, when the "specialist-system" goes live, but we will have to see how it works out.
  • @Psubond couldn't have said it better. Claymores allowed for a different strategy and game style, rather than the just run, gun, kill, get killed and respawn of COD. Which is what they've turned Battlefield into. Claymores made you think twice before running around everywhere and just shooting

@cso7777 Completely disagree that Claymores dumb down game play.

Claymores, and indeed the likes of Mortars and Suppression mechanics, add layers to the game play requiring more thought.

I would vehemently argue that it is the removal of such things that dumbs down game play as it removes layers that require thought.

@Trokey66 Having every corner in the game filled with claymores makes the game a total joke to play, just like BFV was when the 'claymore' problem was at its highest. People put them all over the map at random positions, because they knew it gave free kills. Now we have potential 128 players having claymores.

The same goes for mortars, it works mostly ok but some maps always have issues with mortars becoming extremely annoying (like Propaganda in BF4, Achi Baba), and again having potentially 128 players using mortars could be an issue.

Why does this response make me think of this.....

The 'problem' in BFV was that people placed Anti Personnel mines around ammo stations and despite people knowing all to well that they are there, they still ran up to them without checking and died.

The 'problem' wasn't their use, it was how people dealt, or more accurately, didn't deal with them.
