I'm not so sure if those willing to give specialists a go are represented properly here. So in the interests of balance thought I would ask the question. There are plenty of threads taking issue with this, but how many hare happy to give it a go? You've all seen the arguments against... Here's a few of my thoughts.....Cant ignore the changing playstyles of shooter players, and recent games squad play has diminished. Personally I'm a squad player, but I think the specialist give a way in to the popular Rambo style players. Nothing a decent squad should worry about as they have the means to allocate resources across the squad to bring the Rambos down. Squad v Squad is the thing squads need to worry about. I suspect that without this BF would not survive anyway and I want to keep playing it.Portal and HZ are at the moment attractive alternatives. I'm enjoying the prospect of moving between games. Let All Out Warfare push the genre. I like the prospect of choice and for one of those choices to be trying something new is fine for me.Really like the attempt to reflect the potential near future technology. The snapshot lady is probably a bit OP but can be countered by a squad. A good squad is not going to be huddled together behind cover and there is is plenty of kit to chuck around to mitigate their attack one way or another. Riot shield guy and bouncing bullets - why would you want to shoot a riot shield with light arms anyway?I like new! Looking forward to the challenge and learning new skills and approaches, new tactics and strategies. Got the feeling you need to be more on your toes than previous games and I like that. Moving between squad targets on a large map, with time to plan attack with specialists that can be employed in more imaginative ways suits me.

@lzilchetl I absolutely agree with you. I think specialists are a good addition to the series and can make gameplay and squad play more interesting.

Yeah (with) every BF game, half of the community opens a window on the 78th floor, goes out onto the ledge and threatens to jump until DICE comes along and talks them back inside.

@lzilchetl I'm ready to try something new. They look interesting.Specialist will definitely shine in Hardzone. Once you play with a Specialist you like I think it would be kinda boring to switch back to some standard class in regular Conquest. I think people are overlooking that aspect.

The info on what is left out in the beta that has been release now after the beta, should have been released BEFORE the beta, to avoid unnecessary kneejerk reactions.Others pushing their negative views have more well formulated and substantiated concerns, yet they have not given the full game a chance because they already KNOW it is "not Battlefield", which is obviously a way of taking ownership of something that is not their to own in the sense that they mean. This attitude is not very helpful, but some seem to think that by trying to convince others how horrible the final game will be, they can somehow force EA & Dice to make the game the way THEY think is right.Yet others, seem to just making polemic post to feed off diverging opinions and gain backslap XPs for their account. Some more blatantly than others.Personally I am strongly in the Lets-wait-and-see camp with a huge amount of anticipation, and really doubt I will be disappointed, because my basic expectation is that I will have fun with a new iteration of a game franchise that I have so far already have had about 3300+ hours of fun in.(edit: grammar)

@DJPtrak I actually think the movement feels different more so due to the futuristic aspect, but again, this is just a wait and see approach too, as we wont know until we try the OG guns in Portal. Im really interested to see how the gunplay feels with the OG maps and guns..

If it feels very OG and good, that means the movement just feels CODish because the guns are a bit more futuristic..

cant wait to give it all a try though!

@nickmajic I think my biggest problem is knowing where to start. There's a bit of learning to do on Portal so not sure if I'm going to wait for others to put a game together or if I am going to have a go myself. But, I'm also dead curious to know what Hazard Zone feels like. Thinking it might even be a wile before I get my teeth into All Out Warefare.

I think I would agree with that. I'd love to know what their reasoning was, as it would have been a pretty standard thing to include wouldn't it. Not like they've never done it before. Its the most common gripe, thinking it might get addressed one way or another. Though I'm not too worried, the red name labels are clear enough, though I would have been happy with just a dot.
But, not a game spoiler for me.

@lzilchetlFor me the specialists are bringing a much more flexible gameplay if done right.

The only minus for me is that you are forced to a certain specific avatar that you might like or not like as much as another avatar.
For example I would had liked if I could be Boris in all the specialist roles like in BFV.
But I guess that would make it even harder to identify what an enemy is capable of.

What I don't like is when one of my favourate franchises gets ripped to pieces and turned into something new.

@lzilchetl yeah, its a difficult thought, this is one thing im really happy about, is 3 separate online modes.. something fresh every time. I personally get bored on BF4 playing the same conquest / MP style games.

Yes that's true. I think the big scare for everyone is that characters become too whacky. BF1 started to wander from a reasonable setting with Captain Birdseye etc. One thing I have learned from this forum is how much players like the fantasy to stay intact. They want that protected and want to feel like its a serious combat in a viable setting. John McClane or Rambo running around spoils that. I hope Dice continue to acknowledge that, though I think that many feel that the specialist are testing the ground on that both in looks and kit available. For my part they are reasonable, but only just. The specialist gadgets are just about reasonable interpretations of what might be available at the time and the specialist models still have a reasonable military flavour. But if players wanted a more futuristic setting than that they would be playing Halo..

@DJPtrakHow was movement different in previous BF games? Apparently the regular sprint is the same speed as BF3 and BF4. The tactical sprint is the same as both 3&4 with a perk.

I’m not sure about the strafing speed, but in BF5 there’s a perk that lets you strafe 60% faster than normal while you ads. Mackay has a similar trait and one of the reasons why I liked using him. Also again the perk in BF3&4.

I started thinking yesterday evening that maybe once the game launches, if it looks like it’s a lot of fun and the maps are well-designed etc., then maybe replacing the 4 standard classes with Specialists will not be such a big issue for people like me who are sceptical beforehand.
