Battlefield 2042 CONSTANTLY at 100% CPU usage when my CPU is absolutely better than the min specs but my GPU runs at a normal 30%-60%. Why won't EA fix their dog crap optimization issue that has plagued this game since day 1? I have done every single fix known to man kind and have done everything I can to fix this stupid issue that shouldn't exist. I even see people with CPU's basically 100x as powerful as mine having this same damn issue that SHOULDNT EXIST AT ALL. I'm trying my hardest not to get banned from this platform right now because I really want my issue fixed without going off on the devs but this is so embarrassing to witness. I'd have no issue if my game didn't run like a piece of crap cus of the CPU usage issue even if it ran at 90% usage all the time but that just shouldn't happen to begin with let alone 100% CPU usage. Either update the minimum requirements to be super computer spec or fix the god damn issue or delist this absolutely horrid game from the store. @Rokebo73 no it isn't lmfao. I don't want to seem argumentative or aggressive with this reply but that's just not true. I have a CPU almost 4x more powerful than what minimum requirements wants. I can run Cyberpunk 2077 with crazy high settings without DLSS with this CPU and can run a pretty dang high 3D Benchmark score with it too. If you read some of the other threads about this same exact issue you will see people with CPU's in the $500+ range that are even more powerful than mine with the same issue. You can also go on reddit for BF2042 and find threads about this same issue and see comments saying they have BELOW min spec PCs getting fine performance. It is genuinely just an EA/Dice issue and not a user error issue. I wish it was just a 'me' issue though, it would make everything a whole lot easier.

I have seen posts saying "devs are looking into solutions for this problem", however they've been saying this since their most recent "big update" as of 5/3/2023 I still run the game at 90-100% cpu usage. I don't have many issues as far as framerate or lag or stuttering but the cpu usage is enough to make me only play the game for MAYBE an hour or two at a time so it doesn't fry my cpu. The last update i saw was November of 2022 stating that "the devs are aware of this problem and are looking into a solution" its now been 6 months and still no fix. I have a 3060 ti and a ryzen 7 2700x 8 core processor. Please tell me theres an ACTUAL solution to this problem and not just "clear your cache" which is a solution that lasts about 30 min.

@Apoc000 I had this issue before, they done and update and it fixed it, latest update, screwed it again. 100% cpu and hard as hell to shoot anyone. Game is way less enjoyable ☹️

@JonnyTryHard yeah it's genuinely disturbing how incompetent EA/Dice seem to be with fixing their own games these days.You'd figure they'd have this issue sorted already after 2 years or whatever of this game being out and from BFV having this same issue before. It's so sad to see. Guess I'm sticking to the older titles until they figure their side out because this is genuinely enraging to deal with.

The thing that rattles me is I ran this game flawlessly for season 1 and 2, yet they change it in season 3 and my i5 9600 now can't run it.......surely I should get my money back as I paid for a product that they made unplayable halfway through its life cycle no?
What cpu is needed to run smoothly? Can you suggest them to me?

it is not a question of processor but of optimization!
I had an old I7-7700k and the game ran fine (except when it rained my pc didn't like it at all). I now have an I9-12900K and I have my processor running at 100% on 64 vs 64 maps.
I don't know what the hell they did with season 3 but they literally broke their game

I'm getting the same problem as well. It started with season 3, and I tried taking EA's advice by lowering and raising the graphic settings and it makes no difference to the CPU usage. Luckily there is still decent FPS for me but I don't like how much CPU power it uses. Hope they fix this in the next season, but they seem to think this problem has been fixed which is worrying.

@Apoc000 I have switched from Game Pass to Steam today, didn't start the game for a month before. So i redownloaded game, cleared ea app cache, shaders etc, but got 100% CPU usage, constant 2-3 seconds freezes and completely unplayable game.
I have 5800x3d and 3080ti and never had this problems when I was on Game Pass platform. I thought maybe it was something with my windows, so I reinstall it from scratch but this didn't help.
Come on EA......

Been experiencing this since first install in S2. I've done everything this thread and previous threads have mentioned as fixes. No success. Can only play Rush due to the CPU constantly maxing out. Every other game runs perfectly fine on highest settings. My hardware is plenty enough to handle this game.

I've tried to run with every unneeded task killed on fresh windows boot with a single 2k res monitor. CPU is chilling with or without all the background tasks running until BF2042 is launched. No difference in performance with or without BG tasks.
