Hey @Skaard4Life, This DirectX error is often related to driver issues. Please make sure to do a clean installation of the drivers for your graphics card and create a gaming profile. You will find all those steps explained here on our website.

    Troubleshooting graphics on PC

  • All NVIDIA GPU drivers are new and up to date. Have uninstalled/reinstalled drivers multiple times. Did not work. Have uninstall/reinstall DirectX, EA app and the games from EA that are in this issue. Nothing has worked so far. In the process of reinstalling BF2042 again this morning to see, one more time, if that maybe a corrupt file was missed on the last 2 uninstall/reinstalls of this game in the last 3 days.

Goes deeper than one would think. After all the quadruple uninstall/reinstalls, EA app fix, uninstall/reinstall, flash the bios, update all the Intel chips the game finally loaded on the 18th. Played for a bit then the same crash happened going to the BSOD on its merry way to reboot. Noticed something a little different this time. It stated in the blue screen under cause that there was a conflict between bitlocker and EA anti-cheat control. Never seen that one before so once the computer rebooted I went the search and located bitlocker encryption and turned it off. Then went to the EA anti-cheat and found a file linking bitlocker to the anti-cheat. Deleted the file and now everything works. Then got hit with the mass internet outage and that caused a new problem. See attached. The fix for it was actually simple once I figured it out. Open EA App, go to the 3 line in the upper left, open go to help then reset app. Once the reset app does its thing and the app opens look to your friend column on the right, if friends are there problem is solved if not reboot computer come back to EA App and friends should be there. After that everything opens and runs like it should.

Note to SSD users, after all the different issues the SSD with all the problems decided it had written enough times to quit completely. Finally back up and running with new drive. So just another factor to consider when you start getting odd crashes and error reports. Take a look at your drive and see how close you are to 80% read/write. Make sure you do a back up or a complete clone to new drive as the SSDs wear out and will stop working. Data will still be there but PITA to recover. Be very thankful EA keeps a cloud image of your games to be able to start where you left off if you have to reload your games.
