Audio drops out entirely throughout entire PC

So when i boot the game, i get maybe 5 seconds where i can hear audio in the main menu before it cuts out my device entirely and not just within battlefield its my ENTIRE PC, all sounds from system and any other apps. I use XLR headphones through a scarlet amp so i think battlefield may be having issues with it as if i switch to my speakers it works just fine and audio comes back but if i switch but it all cuts out again. Ive tried updating drivers and lowering the bitrate through my headphones but the issue prevails

  • I have exactly that same issue and i am able to fix it by turning Spatial sound On or Off

Having this problem too, Using Scarlet 2i2 4th gen with up to date drivers.
I saw people having a similar issue 2 years ago but seems like it's back.

Things I tried but didn't work:
    -Updating drivers
    -Verifying game files
    -Re-installing EA anticheat
    -Messing with windows spatial sound
-Changing USB ports from 2.0 to 3.2
-Disabling all other audio playback devices
-Making sure I'm using 48kHz sample rate
-Changing "allow exclusive control of this device" setting
    -Changing many ingame audio settings

  • I am experiencing similar issues with an EVGA Nu Audio sound card. I read several reports of owners of different Focusrite devices having these audio dropout issues as well. I found out that one thing all these devices have in common is the use of an XMOS chip as the main sound processor:

    • EVGA Nu Audio uses XMOS XU216-512-TQ128
    • Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 3rd Gen uses XMOS XU216-256-TQ128
    • Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 2nd Gen uses XMOS XU208-256-TQ64

It is quite likely that EA Anticheat does not play well with these XMOS sound processors. The thing is, my sound card works well in all other situations and I assume it is the same with you Focusrite Scarlett owners. So it would be great if someone at EA could provide a fix to their Anticheat software.

  • I hope so, too. Would be a real shame if the next Battlefield (or any other future EA titles) would suffer from the same problem.
