Heads up that this is a gamer's forum, not a developers forum. While there may be developers looking in the forum, I wouldn't expect a response from one of them.
If you mean "ram stick" or "ram dimm", I have been using 2 sticks fine since the game came out. I seriously doubt the game cares where the sticks are inserted anymore (or less) than other software you are running. You need to ensure you are inserting them into the proper slots for the type of ram (e.g. dual channel) your laptop supports.
You say you have the same problem on a PC. Does this mean RAM in certain DIMM slots is impacting graphics performance on your PC? Issues would not be limited to graphics, if RAM is not configured properly.
You can always attach a DXDIAG report, as someone may spot something causing your issue.
