@BetaFieldPlayerTechnically speaking, it's DICE that is doing this all wrong. They shouldn't be storing cache data in the "My Documents" folder. "My Documents" folder is for user-created data. Application cache data should be stored "ProgramData" or "Appdata" depending on whether or not it's user profile specific.
These are basic principles from Microsoft applicaiton developer guidelines. DICE has done this properly in past titles. More evidence of massive talent loss at DICE with the development of BF2042.
@DigitalHypeI know that Dice is doing this all wrong, thats why i sayed hope they fix it. Onedrive more then half full because of 1 cache folder, this makes Onedriver unusable.

Hey all,
Thank you for this feedback.
We have made the teams aware of this.- Rokebo733 years agoSeasoned Ace
You could also say users from one drive did it wrong.
They should config there onedrive / folders to be backup!
More important , read the manual how to exclude folders from one drive, google for it !

@Rokebo73When i exclude a folder from onedrive, the folder still stays on onedrive and the folder on my pc will be deleted, when i then start the game a new cache folder is made, and onedrive tells me that there are now 2 folders with the same name.
Onedrive should delete the folder from onedriver when i exclude a folder, this would make more sence but the reverse is the case.
So users did it not wrong, but Dice did and Microsoft.
I wish they put the game folders not in the documents folder but in their own game folder that is not connected to onedrive.

@EA_LeeuwIs this something that we can see fixed in 5.0?
It's a nightmare that this is eating up space on the precious system disk, when the game is installed on a dedicated harddrive for games.
Would be better if this can be customized or is located closer to the game. Or as others mentioned, in the appropate directory.
User directory is defiently the wrong place.

Hey @Herdosratos,
Battlefield 2042 is designed to use the Documents folder for its settings etc. It's not something that can be 'fixed', because it is not something that is broken. Battlefield 2042 is also not the only game that uses the Documents folder for things like these.
However, the feedback has been passed on to the teams.
