Battlefield 2042 Launch Error

As a test I got Microsoft pc game pass and downloaded battlefield 2042 through the xbox app on pc since pc game pass comes with EA play. I still got the same error message when I tried to launch: "We've noticed your computer is currently offline. To activate your game on this computer using your EA account, you'll need to connect to the internet."

It seems like the EA app is just broken at this point..? I thought it might have been a steam connection issue but the same error on a totally different storefront points to it being an EA issue potentially.

I don't have this program installed... and I've tried the previous solutions... but it still doesn't work. Are there other programs that could be causing problems?
