BF2042 dirextx function error after Windows update

Following a recent Windows update, an error has emerged preventing the launch of Battlefield 2042. Prior to the update, the game functioned without issue. Troubleshooting steps, including the complete reinstallation of both the NVIDIA drivers and Battlefield 2042, have not resolved the problem.

    Haven't been able to play BF2042 since ± 2/12/2025 (after the new windows update).  Today I went into Windows Game Play mode and turned off Game mode and optimization in Windows. Then restarted after reset.  Was able to play (so far) twice today...
