Because we so no other reports about these sorts of events, it's very likely that this is caused by your own setup. It's possible that your modem, router, or another network device, is not able to handle the network connection and therefore cuts the connection or lets some equipment crash.
I would recommend checking the logs of your network devices, either modem or router, to see if you can spot any weird events. It's possible that only your ISP can do this for you.
- 3 years ago@EA_Leeuw I have the modem that my internet provider gave me, no other game I have played has this issue so I fail to believe there is a fault with my internet. On both occurances it was between loading maps. A quick Google search says multiple people have had this issue. If it doesn't happen on the 70+ multiplayer games I have played, why does it only happen when I play bf2042? I haven't had time to check with ISP even if I did it's periodically. You have now been told by 2 different users that your game has interfered with their internet. Acknowledge and fix the issue before the game is pure AI. If my internet provider states it was fault on your end, how would you fix and compensate those effected? I didn't agree in the TnCs that you could effect the status of my internet modem and if it says it can restart your internet in the TnCs I wouldn't have signed them.

It's the same with me. A lot of multiplayer games were launched - no problems. 2042 - disconnects the internet, I reconnect it (sometimes a couple times) and only then everything starts. I will also add that when I play with a friend and I am transferred to a new game for him - black screen and all. When I play alone this problem is not. In any case, the game is not worth the suffering.

In my system (CPU Ryzen 5600X, 32GB DDR4, MB X570 Aorus Elite with Intel I211 Gigabit Ethernet) BF2042 manages to bring down network stack (likely the ethernet driver)
After starting BF, the internet access will fail (neither BF nor other application can access network) and it is impossible to disconnect from PPPOE.
I tried updating Intel Ethernet drivers downloaded from MSI website (MB package) and newest drivers from Intel and the disconnect will still happen for both of them.
With original network drivers (from MSI), Windows shutdown will hang after running BF. With updated drivers there is no hang.
This is a first time I see a game managing to mess up permanently Windows 10 networking stack.
