Better a movie if possible and post it please.
Lets see if there is more info so we can try to solve this issue 😉
- 3 years ago@Rokebo73 Furthermore I use to play the ps5 version which was double the players when game released and first few weeks in. This issue has occured in the past year or 2 and I have only noticed it on first day back on the game since a long break. This issue wasn't present prior with a higher network load why is it present now on my ps4 with half the players. Sony have confirmed their console is not capable of doing that and it's an issue with either the host or my ISP. My ISP said the only explanation would be a surge in packets from host. Which means a problem with EA servers. If this issue happened at any other point in my life I wouldn't care so much but this is the only game and I feel like they shouldn't be allowed to do that.

@B_MachineCheck this site !
With a list that could cause those issue.
Check it , i did set i below the spoiler button, so forum would not delete it !
Cheers - 3 years ago@Rokebo73 I checked it out, my router is relatively new I would have received same year this game released. ethernet cable is fine and has no issues. Connectivity to call of duty, GTA 5, apex, war thunder, ESO and ark are all flawless. Internet speed is constant all day with it varying from 80mbps to 100mbps. This issue only happens periodically when playing only this game and so far only in team Deathmatch game mode. First time it was between games and the 2nd was when I went to load it up. It's as if it went to connect to game but instead my internet crashed.

@Rokebo73 I will just contact ISP and see what the issue was it would be easier. It's likely what the technician said which was a burst of packets from host. (Essentially a DDoS from the game)This is what I mean by that it is possible that your modem/router can't handle the network traffic the game needs.
This has nothing to do with DDoS.
- 3 years ago@EA_Leeuw Okay, this is the only game out of over 70 that I would need to upgrade my router for. The router I currently own is over $150 to buy now and it's 2 years old. I'm not sure how this router could be failing on only that game and only when loading the map. So strange. Either way I have stopped playing bf2042. If it's the only game switching off my internet then it's the only game I won't play. Grats on losing a 20 year battlefield veteran.
- 3 years ago@B_Machine after looking into it, This issue has been found on other games and is flagged as a DDoS by ISP and the 4 games that have had the issue soon after being noticed, fixed them. DDoS can be accidental, you have been notified of the issue, fix it. The excuse of 'its only effecting a small portion of our player base' is unacceptable. It's against the law to DDoS which explains why all 4 games that had same issue fixed it asap.

Hey @B_Machine,
If playing an online game is flagged as a DDoS attack by your ISP, I would recommend reaching out to your ISP to let them know that playing an online game is not a DDoS attack, so they can look into what could be causing the issue for your router and maybe deploy a firmware fix of some sort. - 2 years ago
The same issue is happening to me only on Team Deathmatch though, also I try to load into the match the first time it disconnects my internet briefly then I try again and I get into a match. Like how does that work? Other game modes play as expected with no problems, it's only the TDM mode I have problems with.
With that said, I know for a fact that it's not an issue on my end since I can play the game perfectly with no faults. However there is a fault somewhere in the TDM game mode that spikes the servers/your internet and crashes by what I understand. So I believe there is some sort of network error on the server and it needs to be restarted / refreshed.

I had very similar problems to the OP over the past few months.
Often when I go into BF2042 and my wife enters the same game I'm in, I will hear some garbled audio, stuttering then my ethernet connection disconnects (but sometimes it happens when playing by myself online). Wife is still connected to the Internet, playing the game and the modem seems fine. But somehow, happens to my PC. I've tried a whole bunch of things to no avail:
- Reinstalling network drivers
- Windows network reset
- Plugged ethernet cable into different port in modem
- Installed latest drivers
- Ran a malware scan (no malware)
- Repaired Easy Anti-Cheat
- Ran sfc /scannow
- Ran Program as Administrator
- Power Cycling
- Uninstalling and reinstalling Battlefield 2042 ONLY (not EA App)
- Run EAC as Administrator
- BIOS update
- Prime 95 Test (no memory issues)
- Installed Visual C++ Redistributable for Easy Anti-Cheat
- Turned Kernel Mode Hardware Enforced Stack Protection On
- Removed Acer User Experience service
- Installed new chipset drivers
- New ethernet cable
- Restart modem
- netsh winsock reset
- netsh int ip reset
- Tried a different modem
- Windows 11 Reset
- Added Easy Anti-Cheat to firewall
- Easy Anti-Cheat Full Control for all users
- DISM
- Reformat Computer
- Moving keyboard and mouse to USB 2.0
- Uninstalled Acer Care Centre
- Uninstalled PredatorSense
- Replaced Powerboard
- Killer Performance Suite uninstalled
- Replaced Network cable
- Killer Driver Uninstaller/Clean Installation
- Disable Wi-Fi Adapter and Bluetooth Adapter
- Installed new NIC
- Network Reset and Turned Permit Independent Port Sharing on Router
- Public to Private Network and changed router to Annex B
- Prioritized PC on modem in QoS settings
- Unplugged external hard disk
- I have installed an Acer firmware update to see if that helps (acer firmware 5.40.11.10)
- Reseated RAM
- Tried a new power extension cord
- Uninstalled OneDriveMy current specs:
Acer Predator Orion 3000 PO3-640
i7-12700
RTX 3060
16GB RAM
500GB SSD

I have the same problem since the beginning of the season 6. Simply the game just shot down my internet connection when I try to play. That's happens in loading screen. I have a dial up ethernet gigabit connection via direct cable (CAT 7). Before this new season everything worked flawless with BF 2042,but now I can't even play anymore because of this issue. Every time when this happens,I need to do a restart to my PC in order to restore my internet connection.
No one at EA or DICE gives a * about this situation, there is like 2 or 3 similar threads in this area with people having the same problem and not a single response from developers.

I just got bf2042 and when i wanted to play...guess what...it disconect my PC from the internet. All other games work fine, internet works fine.but everytime i open the game it simply turn off my internet.. I checked Firewall for the game and its allowed. i reset the internet and flushed . same thing. Everytime i open the game i got this issue.
- 12 months ago@EA_Leeuw I'm having the same issue as well ☹️ even after reinstalling the game, it all worked fine on the same ISP and nothing changed except for an update to the game. After that , it started disconnecting me from the network as soon as the game loaded (as in it started , not entered a match or anything).
I'm instantly prompted with a network connection issue screen when the game loads and I ALWAYS have to restart the PC MANUALLY because restarting or opting to shut it down via the Windows "Power" options no longer works, it just keeps me in an infinite "Shutting down" / "Restarting" screen. I've had no other issues with other platforms / games / browsers / programs that need to be connected to the internet to work, not even stand-alone apps have issues (like whatsapp / messenger / instagram / facebook / streamlabs / mail apps) - 11 months ago
I have just discovers I had this problem too. My ISP is trouble shooting Broadband issues and have asked me to configure windows 11 to connect to them with PPOE (so they can detect drop-outs etc).
After a few mins I figured something that will make it work, see my steps (windows 11):
1. Have my OS on PPOE connection to my ISP.
2. Start BF2042 (keep game open).
3. Internet cuts off, PPOE connection is still 'connected', but windows then auto switches to my ETHERNET 2 (internet fixes itself). At this time PPOE is still connected.
4. In Windows - disconnect from PPOE, and RECONNECT the PPOE.
5. Windows came up with a 'allow this program' to connect message - accept
5. Go back into game and try connect to the service
With the above I was then able to play while on PPOE.
See if this works for you.

I too have had this problem since BF4 when I first installed it in 2020! Game would drop my laptop wireless connection to my modem every time. So I went wired ethernet from modem to my laptop. BF4 would NEVER work wireless. Since last 9 months I have BF2042 installed and wireless no problem. Now today is doing the same thing, same laptop and dropping wireless connection to same modem as soon as BF2042 starts. I have not tried wired yet, cos I am typing here.
The first page someone mention KILLERLAN, that POS software I have come to hate, I have it installed and cannot be uninstalled from my MSI laptop.
