BF2042 Disconnects PC from Internet

Hey guys,

I receive the error code ‘1:3300J:1502I:-891751198O:0B’ every time I launch the game. Surprisingly, the game completely disconnects my PC from my router (or its internet service). Please watch the screen recording I provided below. It only takes two and a half minutes. The left command prompt is pinging google.com, and the upper right is pinging the BFV server.

Notice they both went timeout when the game started, and I checked my chrome by loading google.com, and it says ‘DNS PROBE FINISHED NO INTERNET.’ As soon as the game was closed, everything became normal. In addition, when the game launches and closes, there is a device connection and disconnection sound. Not sure if that is related to the problem.

All drivers are up to date, and I have already reinstalled windows multiple times, but this problem persists. I’m not sure if this is a bug or if 2042 is messing up something in the background.

My laptop is Alienware X14 with i7-12700H, RTX 3060, 32GB LPDDR5, and Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211. Please help if possible.

Thanks a lot!

    Hey @oTOMAHAWKo,

It doesn't seem like it is a widespread issue, if I search through our forums, therefore it allows me to believe that it could very well be related to your own setup. There are numerous things that can cause this issue; malfunctioning PC drivers, a too strict firewall/antivirus, a break in your connection (cable or wifi), modem/router rules/ports that are too strict, modem/router firmware not knowing what to do with the traffic, etc. etc.

    Hi there,

Has there been a fix for this, as this is a problem that has been happening to my PC for the last couple of weeks.

Randomly kills my internet connection and I can restore it by resetting modem. Really annoying, sometimes I can make it through a few games, sometimes not even a full match.

    @nameIsBibu, cheers for the update.

Yeah, if you could give eithernet a try, that would be neat. It's also possible that it's a WiFi adapter driver related issue.
  • @EA_Leeuw Thanks for the reply! I just tried to disable the firewall and as many background processes as possible (it seems like I don't have the Killer network adapter), but the error persists so far.

My PC disconnected from the Wi-Fi after noticing the signal had no network access. But when it reconnects, the issue is gone temporarily. It either disconnects me during gameplay or comes out during the next launch.

I'll try to launch the game in Windows safe mode when I get a USB-C to Ethernet adapter and see if the problem still occurs.

    Hey @nameIsBibu,

That is indeed a very strange situation.

It almost looks like either your Firewall, Antivirus or internet adapter software just blocks your whole PC from having access to the internet while you're playing the game, as if it's triggering something within those programs. I am mentioning these two, since they are pretty much the only three programs that can cause this on a PC, the game itself (of course) can't cause this as it's not a feature of the game.

Just to start with the most plausible cause of this: do you have something called "Killer LAN" installed on your PC, by any chance? Or something with the name "Killer", that is meant for your Intel network card?
