===Turkey Day Update===Uninstalling from EA app left me in a state where I could not even redownload it.Installed from Origin and everything has been fine. Worried about how it will behave next patch, but EA support and proactive acknowledgement of these issues is hovering around 0% which tells me this is relatively rare or they don't have a system to capture this feedback and get it to someone who cares.I have 300GB free on that target drive when it give me the error.===original message===Have not been able to play BF2042 since the update, because the update won't download and install.1. Having same issue with new update. Says is just over 4gb, but says 0 bites space required. Clicking download also takes no action.It's an endless loop.

Game requires update > click update > nothing happens > game requires update...

@KillerbeanLIVES The only workaround that I have knowledge of is updating through Origin.

Got the same problem with this and the last update. last time it works after i "clean" the app. in EA launcher go on top left side on the 3 lines > help > app recovery (or somethinge like that. i dont use the english launcher. its the last point)after a restart of pc it worked last time. but atm im in "time calculate" loop..maybe it works for you guyscheersedit: now it works and load normally

Generally, you will need double the update size in free space available, aim for ~13GB free space and retry, thanks.

@EA_Barry This has nothing to do with free diskspace. The update is bugged on the EA app. The screenshot doesn't indicate available diskspace, but disk space required! It says the update is 6.37GB but requires 15.03MB of diskspace.

I have the exact same issue. I have 135 GB of storage space free but get the same endless loop as you. Game requires update > click update > nothing happens > game requires update...

I had to uninstall and reinstall.
Last week on official launch day I had to do the same thing for the same reason.
Download speed throttled after first 30 seconds both times.

Thanks for the advice re Origin. I'll try that for next weeks patch/break/chaos

I updated through origin but now the problem is the game doesn't load. It briefly brings up that anti-cheat loading bar and then nothing happens. 'Play' button in launcher is greyed out and there's a small backend process for BF2042 in task bar but the game will never load.
Tried clearing both EA and origin caches and restarting but it doesn't fix the issue.
Pretty smooth game launch so far.

///IK too am having the exact same problem. I have 3.21 TB and I cannot update the game? What's going on? In order for me to fix this issue I had to uninstall ALL of the game right down to the root and then re-install it. Is there a fix???

I uninstalled in EA app and it wouldn't download or install.
Installed vis Origin and it works fine
