black window on start BF2042

Question

I downloaded and redownloaded the game 3 times today, cleared the game, steam and EA caches, repaired the game 5 times, booted as administrator, updated graphics drivers and tried to repair EAnticheat.

The game remains in a black window for 4/5 minutes and then closes on its own.

As for hardware there are no problems because I played with it for months before uninstalling it, I have a 3070 and 5800X CPU, 32 RAM.

How can I solve it?

Update: file repair keeps downloading 3 files, then game doesnt work, i try file repair again and downloads same 3 files and never works.

@Aywood69 Have you tried starting in windowed mode? (alt+enter) That sometimes gets my game to at least start then I can check/change settings and fullscreen it afterwards.

It doesnt do anything to me during the black screen ☹️&nbsp;When i press em it does the sound of "not possible" from windows...

Maybe some Direct X file is missing ? Have you checked with this installer from the Microsoft website that you have the current Direct? Try downloading this installer online and see if you need to install Direct X.

The black mini window at startup is normal (for me it lasts about 5-15 seconds). Then it enlarges to full screen and the game starts.
