Constant crashes on Xbox Series X
Hello,
I am playing Battlefield 2042 X/S version on my Xbox Series X. I have been experiencing repeat game crashes for a very long time.
I can play typically 0-2 matches (of any game type, (Conquest, Rush, TDM, etc.) it does not matter) before the game crashes and I am back at the Xbox home screen. I have tried to remedy the issue, or at least narrow down the source of the problem to no avail. So far, over the past 1-2 years, the methods I have tried include but are not limited to:
- Closing and restarting the game
- Clearing local save data
- Playing with and without friends in various game modes
- Uninstalling the game and reinstalling it
- Uninstalling the game and then installing the Xbox One version instead
- Changing my Xbox display settings
- Checking my Xbox network settings
- Changing my TVs picture settings
- Changing the display options in game
- Cleaning my Xbox
So far, none of these have proven to actually resolve the issue, although I did learn some things:
- Switching to the Xbox One version of the game significantly reduced the crashes, where I was able to play on average 3-6 matches without the game suddenly crashing. However this presented new issues, as the game ran very poorly overall on my console.
- Playing with friends seemed to amplify the issue. Alone, I can usually complete a match or two, whereas with a party of friends, I am lucky to make it to the end of the first match we play.
Another important note is that when I originally started playing the game back in 2022, I was not having this issue right away. It was after I had been playing for a few months that I suddenly started experiencing crashes. Also, my friends, whom I've played with throughout this time, all have the same Xbox Series X, and same version of the game, but none of them are experiencing crashes like I am. I have scoured the internet for answers, but come up with almost nothing. I did learn that I am not the only one having this identical issue, but many posts about it are years old and out of date.
My question is what can I do to alleviate this problem? How can I stop the game from crashing constantly on my Xbox?
Thanks,
