controller is not working on pc

I want to use a ps5 controller on my PC (via USB-C) but when I am in the lobby, not even a game, my controls are all messed up (ie. R2 is X and L2 is O). When I try to change my key binds and resting it to default settings nothing happens. When I get into a game the controls are still messed up (I can't look up or around its locked looking down). I've tried using steams controller settings but that doesn't work, ds4 windows don't work, and also disabled the mouse and key input doesn't work. I also got the game through gamepass but that shouldn't affect it because it's running through EA play.

  • @Rokebo73 thanks for the reply but this did not help non of the keybinds were changed on my controller for some reason even through all of the different options.
  • Im having the same problem as well.  I went and tried the ps5 controller on MW2 and it works just fine, so I'm not sure what the problem is.  Gamepad tester is reading all the correct inputs as well.

I am using steam to recognize my controller, but like I said, it works fine with MW2.

The problem seems to be on either the EA app for BF.  I tried BF1 quickly and it seemed it had the same problem as well.

  • Hi community,

The PlayStation controller ingame driver was removed from the game since the beginning of the season 3, before this i was able to connect my dualshock 4 or my dualsense controller without any issue and the controller was detected by the game as dualshock or dualsense controller but for some reasons they just downgraded the features and remove the ability to detect PlayStation controller in the game. they replace it with xbox controller driver in the game, which have other input structure than the PlayStation controller and this is why the buttons are messed up while using PlayStation controller i would suggest you to install a software called DS4 windows which convert the input from the ps controller to a windows X-input and let you play back as usual.
