Since updating to 24H2, Battlefield starts to load (shows splash screen) and after about 20 seconds disappears and I'm left back on the desktop.
I resolved this by running Windows Update to pick up some additional updates, updating my (NVIDIA) graphics drivers (with "clean installation" option checked and including the new version of PhysX), then rebooting my PC.

Seems like BF2042 doesn't work on Windows 11 24H2 (build 26100.712), it crashes on launch with this error:
I tried reinstalling GPU drivers, and deleting the Battlefield 2042 folder from Documents, nothing helped. All other games I play work just fine on this version on Windows.
EDIT: new Nvidia GPU driver fixed the issue
I've tried both "verify integrity of game files" and reinstalling the whole game, didn't help. Dunno if downgrading driver would help, but I don't want to try that. I don't consider downgrading gpu driver to be an acceptable solution for a game to work.
I'm having the same issue with 24H2 with an AMD GPU as well, I guess I'll just have to wait for a driver update ☹️
EDIT - Clearing BF2042 cache worked 🙂

You delete the files within this folder :
User\AppData\Local\BattlefieldGameData.kin-release.Win32\cache
