EA Anticheat error for Battlefield 2042

When launching Battlefield 2042 from the PC Xbox Game Pass through the EA App, I come across an EA AntiCheat error as shown in the attached image. I first encountered this error on February 21, 2024. I have contacted EA support and tried troubleshooting. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game, launched both the 2042.exe and anticheat files as an administrator. I also accessed properties > Digital Signatures > double clicked on the EA digital signature > View certificate > Install certificate so that it would install on default settings with both the 2042.exe and anticheat files. I then followed the troubleshooting steps listed on the following EA page about EA AntiCheat (How to install and troubleshoot EA anticheat on your PC). After doing so I was able to successfully uninstall the anticheat. However, when I tried to reinstall it, the EA AntiCheat Setup said "Intall Failed:701", but in the drop-down menu it says (Installed) next to Battlefield 2042. I then followed 6 more troubleshooting steps as recommended by EA support:

1) Open system configuration (msconfig)

2) Unmark EABackgroundservice

3) Restart the PC

4) Reinstall the anticheat through the anticheat installer

5) Open system configuration again and mark EABackgroundservice

6) Open the EA App and launch the game

After following these steps I still received the "Install Failed:701" prompt, and the anticheat error when I load up the game still persists.

Any further help with this situation would be very much appreciated.

    I just recently about 3 weeks ago June 28 2024 started having this problem. I have done all of the trouble shooting, unistall the game & EA and then reinstall them and so far nothing has helped. I am having that problem where I uninstall the Anticheat and reinstall it and it shows up "error failed 701". I generally don't know what to do I contacted EA and they were no help. If anyone can help me please let me know.

    Did ya delete all folders and files manually ?

    Als check in C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming


    Did check if there is any malware / antivrus / vpn is blocking the ea anti cheat?

    Use a CLEAN BOOT and test again !

    It pops up this code when I try to update it and it's like this with every other game even if I dont have the game

    I have checked and deleted all the files from AppData\Roaming and redownload the EA Anticheat and EA it self. I have check with the anti virus and nothing is blocking it, I am using Norton as my Anti-Virus. All though now it's saying in the logs that EasyAntiChear is not installed and not sure how to install. Need Help please.

    Hello, I'm currently experiencing this issue and I’ve looked through all EA Forums posts on this topic. I have tried a large number of potential fixes already (repair / reinstall the EA Anticheat service, repair / reinstall the game in EA, run as administrator, disable antivirus, secure/clean boot, disable all non-Microsoft services in msconfig etc. etc.), but nothing seems to be working.

    Since none of the provided troubleshooting steps helped solve the problem, the chat agent said he'd report the issue to game team directly and asked me to upvote posts on this topic. Hope anyone has further ideas to make BF V playable ... Thanks!
