So, it appears that when C:\Users\(yourlocaluser)\AppData\Local\BattlefieldGameData.kin-release.Win32 fills, even after one game, it precludes the Windows Filter Manager check and bounces you back into the EA App without loading BF2042. I deleted the cache again and was able to join. Very weird issue and I hope EA_UltraSlide or others can get this to the app developers for an update fix.
