turns out the issue was with my ea account (friends list in the ea app not loading) and i had to contact someone from ea help to get them to fix it on their end, the issue isnt with the players connection
when contacting ea help make sure you use the chat option and not the email option, the emails are absolutely useless and every day someone new was emailing me with the same tips that i had already gone through
in the chat with ea help i told tell them that i found a thread from 2021 about the ea app not loading users friends list where the solution was to have an ea employee fix something on their end, they ran me through some basic tips regarding changing dns, using a mobile hotspot, port forwarding, etc. these tips didnt help because the issue wasnt with my connection, there was something wrong with my ea account, someone on ea's side fixed whatever was wrong, i dont know what specifically was wrong but this issue has been happening to people since 2021
