Error/Bug - This software cannot be used at the same time as the game

Hello,

I'm playing Battlefield 2042 on PC for quite some time without any issue. Last night I have installed the game on my PS5 and played a bit, all was good - but now when I want to play the game on my PC, I face this error (see attached). What should I do to fix this? Now I can play the game only on my PS5 but not on my PC.

    So after I asked ChatGPT (yeah, I know), he told me to search for any programs on my PC that comes from Publisher: DiscSoft because that's the error about.

    This software cannot be used at the same time as the game. Please make sure it's not running, or restart your PC. (84): DiscSoftLTD

    So I've found Daemon Tools and uninstalled it. Now the game works. Also, you have to uninstall ReWASD if you have.

    So basically the game or anticheat doesnt like apps coming from that DiscSoft publisher and won't let you start the game. If you have any programs like DAEMON Tools, ReWASD or Astroburn you can't play the game.

    This is solved, not a technical solution but a workaround.

    i don't have DaemonTools installed. I can not find active process or service from DiscSoftLTD. I looked with Microsoft's SysInternals Tools

    Was having the same exact issue and had the Daemon Tools Light installed.  Uninstalled it and now everything seems to be working again.   Which technically that isn't a solution.  EA needs to fix their **bleep**.

    This is NOT a solution. Uninstalling software that has been working for years...
    I have had daemon tools on my PC forever with no issues.

    Last night I installed BF4 and then both it adn 2042 won't run, I get the same error.
    I uninstalled Daemon tools, Punkbuster, BF4, BF2042, reinstalled them, unistalled daemontools again... nothing is working.
    My buddy installed BF4 at the same time as me last night, he has no issues...

    Found an USB driver that was active, probably came from it was left there after uninstall the DAEMON Tools.  But this worries me, that even uninstall does not remove everything.

    This is a really a bug/Error from EA.   I do not have any software from DiscSoft on my computer and have the identical error as you have.  So I am now checking in my registry for possible matchings because 5 year ago I did installed and uninstalled these DAEMON Tools,  but I do not have them active anymore because uninstalled...   This is for EA to fix this **bleep**
