Game crash without error nor apparent reason

Hello,

as per the title sometimes the game crashes without giving any kind of error, the crash doesn't happen often but roughly is about once every 9 hours of game splitted in a session of 2 / 3 hours per day.

The only think that I noticed is that at the exact crash time there is an event in the Windows Event Viewer utility that is described as per the follow: `Download of the file system filter 'EAAntiCheat' (version 10.0 date-time-and-unkmown-stuffs) completed`; this kind of event occurs every single time the game crashes, so I guess it's not a coincidence but I can't really understand how might I try to fix it. Several times I did updated and/or repaired the anticheat through the appropriate tool (located in the game installation folder) but with no difference at all.
I'm sorry if the description might be slightly wrong or different but my operating system has a different language from English.

If you wonder, I have everything updated except for the GPU drivers (I own a RX 6700XT) because there is a known issue with the most recent drivers and AMD 6000 series, other than that I really don't know if there might be a workaround or there is a need from the devs to fix it.
I also attach the DxDiag just in case it would help, or if further informations are needed I'll gladly help and will try to do my best.

I was having a problem with this same error. The newest build didn't fix it. My problem was hardware. CPU thermal paste lost it's ability to transfer geat properly. Repasting the CPU fixed my issue. If you have a gaming PC, try new thermal paste if you have an AMD Ryzen CPU of any kind. Another nuance of AMD if one uses paste versus TIM.

This happened before but I forgot that changing the paste fixed game crashing 2 years ago. I usually change it once or twice a year because I game hard. Oddly the paste looks ok but it loses the ability to transfer heat properly over time. It seems heat spikes to 70c will cause errors on certain cores. I used OCCT and Hardware Monitor to figure it out. This might save someone a few Windows reinstalls, game reinstalls, and hours of testing.

    Thanks!

So far so good, played (almost) a week long with my classic 2-3 hours per day and no more crash/closure of the game occurred.

At this point I guess we can say that the problem is solved (at least to me, don't know if the other users could say the same), even if personally I would wait another week for a further confirmation.

Thanks a lot for the given help.

The last time it happened to me was on July 2nd around 18:20 (Central European Summer Time) and the next one it did happen about 30-40 minutes after the first.

Later on I'll play so I'll start to test the new anticheat build and will let you know during the next days if the issue has been finally solved (as I said it doesn't happen very often, so unfortunately it'll take a while for a confirmation).

The new build is now live. Can you let me know the last time you experienced this error?

Hey, thank you for the information.
Yeah, I'll certainly give a feedback from tomorrow after the new release, the only problem is that it might take a while because as I previously said it doesn't happens often so maybe I would be able to give an exact response after a week or two.

Talking about that: on yesterday for the very first time the problem occurred twice to me in about one hour or one hour and half between the first crash and the second; unfortunately I wasn't able to report it immediately because for some reason I wasn't able to login in here, and I just did it now; instead today I had no problem.

There will be a new anticheat release tomorrow. Please let me know if it improves afterwards, I will reply again after the version is updated.

I have the same problem. Nothing but what you found as well, EA AntiCheat issue without any error in the system. We're in the exact same boat except I have an RX6800. I won't bother with uploading my DXDiag because there's nothing to see, everything is fine. I tried reloading the OS, Windows 11 Pro, no "dice", lol. The game will play longer sometimes than others but it will crash at some point. I did notice that it's eating almost every bit of RAM, almost all 16GB in addition to all the GPU VRAM, on only "high" settings at 1440p 32" monitor. I also tried a previous driver that worked perfectly last month. I have all the Windows updates, including the stubborn one for June. The board has the latest BIOS, I tried no O.C., full O.C., you name it and it will happen. ILSC doesn't help either. I think it's something EA needs to check out, there's a lot of us complaining about pretty much the same deal.

  • Hello,

It sounds like you've done a good job narrowing down the issue to EA AntiCheat. The "Download of the file system filter 'EAAntiCheat' completed" event in Event Viewer right before a crash is a very strong indicator that the anti-cheat system is somehow involved in the crash, even without a specific error code.

    Best Regards
