Here are some examples I made that you can see towards the end of the clips:
https://streamable.com/9ta6de
https://streamable.com/749zrvI've tried just about everything that I know how to do that would normally fix an issue like this and can't budge this issue. It seems to me as if this started happening after a small patch that the game did a few days ago. Otherwise I've changed nothing on my system and no other games have this problem, obviously.
Very sad since I just bought it and now will not be able to play it until this issue is resolved. I don't see what else I can do...facing the exact same issue ... also having issues running the game (sometimes its just crash on start)
laggy minimap aswell,
tried few drivers all with same result
also trying with Bitdefender disabled...
windows 11 with 3090.
unplayable ☹️

Player ID: kikolarryio
Platform: PC - EA App
Date/Time issue started: March 15-16
Are you getting an error message? No
Does this happen in any game mode? Yes
How can we find this issue ourselves? Depends if it happens for your or not
Please list all steps you've tried so far:
1) Deleted every trace of BF2042 and reinstalled multiple times.
2) Tried 3 different Nvidia drivers, most current and 2 versions before that.3) Changed graphics settings from Low to Ultra as well as all other in-game settings
The game hitches very badly for about 1-2 seconds at which time you lose all input and die. I can make another example if you want but it's shown in the videos above.
I did a few MSI Afterburner Benchmarks to confirm it's the game and not something else.
Here's what the game looks like when it's running perfectly fine:
BF2042.exe benchmark completed
Average framerate : 153.1 FPS
Minimum framerate : 152.2 FPS
Maximum framerate : 153.4 FPS
1% low framerate : 90.0 FPS
0.1% low framerate : 90.0 FPS
And here's what the game looks like when the freeze happens:
BF2042.exe benchmark completed
Average framerate : 137.0 FPS
Minimum framerate : 114.8 FPS
Maximum framerate : 155.2 FPS
1% low framerate : 67.9 FPS
0.1% low framerate : 4.6 FPSAs you can see, it's nearly a full-on lock up for a few seconds, then returns to normal. No matter what I change for settings in-game or on my PC, nothing matters.
Completely wiped all traces of BF2042 and even the EA App and reinstalled it all. Same issue even with a default profile.
Tested several other games, no problems at all, perfect 3dMark scores.
It seems this is a BF2042 issue, maybe in in the last patch. I don't know but it just started all of the sudden and I didn't change anything.
Games remains unplayable, very disappointed.
Same thing is happening with me ever since the latest patch/update. No problems before.
- @LoneGunman74 I'm convinced it's something they did with the latest small patch, as before that the game was running completely smoothly. I managed to contact support and get a refund. Very sad that I can't even play the game though.
