Cheersedit, i see youre 250gb drive is full.
If ya download game it download packed files that need to bes tored at youre drive.
Then those packed file need to be unpacked also !youre program files folder is 153gb + 129.9 gb bf2042 folder <-- no update included/installed full yet !!!
153+129 = 282 way more then your 249gb drive !!!
Cheersps bf2042 full updateand installed with season 7 is about 87 gb !! <-- no update (packed and unpacked files) included

Hi
. Tried to post this to the Tech issue thread, but it didn't post - noticed no posts on there for a month though.
Not sure what's going on here. Tried to update but I'm running out of storage on my SSD apparently. Deleted some apps, cleared over 20 GB, but still storage is high and the update wont run. ?Had a look and saw this.... BF2042 is a 130GB install? Can't be right. And whats a CAS_DIP_STAGED File when its at home? There's hundreds of them....50GB!
Was really hoping to play tonight. Anyone any ideas?
- MackTKau2 years agoRising Ace@lzilchetl That "installation" file is the core game files.
On my PC using Steam install it's only 85gb though. - CPU_UK2 years agoSeasoned Ace
You can try clearing more space by deleting old windows update files, do a google on "how to clear old windows update files". It's perfectly safe, and if you don't clear them out they will run into 10s or 100s Gigs of wasted disk space.
- lzilchetl2 years agoSeasoned Ace@MackTKau Thanks, so every thing in the installation folder is essential.. There's no way it should be 130 GB though, it shouldn't be far of the 85GB from your steam install I would have thought.
- lzilchetl2 years agoSeasoned Ace@CPU_UK Thanks. I started with origin telling me I only had half a GB available. I then deleted around 30GB (more space than origin said I needed) of apps and update files... tried again and still only had half a GB available. Feels like it is downloading files and not managing the redundant files as it goes. Gonna bite the bullet and reinstall I guess.

@lzilchetlWait, what? You’re still on Origin? It didn’t force you over to the EA app? Not sure at all but that may have been part of your issue. Origin is way better than the EA App, which isn’t saying much as Origin kind of sucked too, but it hasn’t been updated anymore so maybe isn’t helping.
I just started the update and after first scanning the 180 GB (preparing) it showed an 80 GB then oddly it went to 6.11 GB and that’s all it downloaded.
