Fun fun fun. EA one says verify and disable overlay, steam one goes into Registry.
Seems this is a weird one.
I did go to both of these forums and tried both approaches but no luck
RIP. At least that eliminates what we can find. That said this only makes things more complicated.

Beyond that that seems like all the results off exact matches in searches, and based on other replies here it does perhaps seem to be more EA sided.
