Hello,
I purchased Battlefield 2042 when Secure Boot was not required. After changing my PC, I can no longer launch the game due to this new condition.
The way EA chooses to fight cheaters should never become the user’s burden, especially when it requires modifying critical system settings on personal computers.
Secure Boot is designed to protect users from rootkits — not to enforce anti-cheat systems. Whether it’s easy or safe to enable is irrelevant; forcing players to activate it abuses a personal security feature for corporate purposes.
Some users have encountered issues even when following EA’s own instructions. EA takes no responsibility for any potential damage and provides no guarantees or support if something goes wrong. This is unacceptable. Players should not be forced to risk system stability just to meet EA’s needs.
Our system settings are not EA’s business.
Therefore:
- I ask for a way to play Battlefield 2042 without Secure Boot.
- I ask EA to offer alternative options in future titles like Battlefield 6.

Secure Boot is not going to stop cheating, they themselves were in bad shape with this because on day 1 of the BF6 beta there was already a hack and it wasn't detected, they banned it because the guy exposed himself publicly, for me it's just marketing, the beta was using excessive CPU in a way that no AAA game does, the question is, is it a game? or is it a way to collect information? I only see that secure boot forces me to use only windows and on my computer I have more than one system installed and I can not activate this nonsense designed only to verify the EFI of windows, I will have to be entering to activate and deactivate a useless and stupid option to play a game, it takes away my desire, what's more I bought the bf2042 for € 100 and it did not require secure boot and now it does, that should be illegal, meanwhile the consoles have nothing to worry about since they will continue cheating with their modified controllers and cronus zen that will not detect javelin no matter how much they want to sell us, they always sell the same idea instead of selling a game and it always ends in failure because they do not comply, nothing works, I have all hope lost in the online game, it does not matter if it is bf6 or another, apex is unplayable and they do not fix it.

I’d buy this in an instant if it worked on the Steam Deck. Anti-cheat shouldn’t punish potential customers. It’s a crazy business model to have. Besides, people will still find a way to cheat anyway.
