FYI, this exact same thing happened when Back4Blood updated. They also updated Easy Anti Cheat (EAC) and no one with Webroot Secure Anywhere could run the game. Webroot pushed an update that fixed it.
@genuksIs there another way we can post something to light a fire under EA's proverbial a$$es so we can actually participate in the product we spent $80 for?
I have had Webroot for 15+ years.
I could play the game before the 3rd patch.
I have tried to disable AV and reinstall game.
I will not uninstall Webroot.
I know you mentioned in your post that Ankita responded in 'kind' to the issue many 'players' have who cannot actually be a 'player' in this broken IP.
I am only here to support those like myself and hopefully garner more attention to this problem.
Accordingly, thank you for continuing to communicate your correspondence.
I will check back to this topic until rectified.
@Lifeguard84But of course, for only clinging on together like that, we can counter on devs vile policies, lies, arbitrary rules (they are so much frequently after). It's affirmative, wiping out a Webroot leads to workability, even can report of somewhat more smoother performance thereafter, yet this is not an output we're expecting. I filed a claim to Webroot as well. Stay safe!
Webroot needs to patch it??? Thats a huge NOPE. Freakin EA needs to come up with more quality software. EAC is well known to be a garbage anti cheat. If you go cheap, this is what happens. Webroot doesn't need to fix anything. Its EA that needs to fix their trash.
So, fix it or refund our money ASAP. So pissed off and getting pretty sick and tired of spending money on trash games that EA puts out, which could be very good games. Now we wait a week or so to see what EA does about this issue.
@Whitefeather01& @genuks Amen and +1.
I went back and played BF3 last night with a fair bit of nostalgia. But even that had its slew of problems back when it was released.
We as people have gotten so used to garbage that it has become the new norm, which I feel is by design of big corporate machines, knowing that us lowly serfs and just going to consume the shlock they present because it is the only avenue of 'consumption' due to their resources.
Such a sad state of our lives to be subjected to this. (and I know this may sound like playing the victim, but I don't believe it's much to ask for a finished product to work like games of yore used to.)
Let me get off my corporate soap box.
Agreed, Webroot isn't the issue.
It is literally the fix for many issues.
I am not going to relinquish that asset for a product that was thrown together after being inspired from watching a how-to-make-a-game-with-hovercraft-wind-and-paprika by MacGuyver.
It is borderline criminal to subject an entity (Webroot) to address problems with and regarding a separate, totally unrelated product/service.
I will begin to formulate a request for refund, note taken.- GhostSafin5 years agoSeasoned Novice
Webroot has been disable and still having the same issue. All the files have been repaired and also game has been reinstalled. This is not helping.

@GhostSafinNote the posts say to completely uninstall SecureAnywhere. Did you do that?
@GhostSafin@Whitefeather01Bad news is in that, to this very moment, there is the only one way for us (those who itching up to keep playing right away) we've ought to rid off of the Webroot before long. Simple disabling protection options doesn't do a trick unfortunately. At least we should wait till they'll fix the damn bug. Personally me I've spent $109 for the ultimate edition, haven't earned a right upon the honest technical assistance regarding the 3rd party soft installed in my windoze which may cause the conflict. Just found myself wretchedly got to digging forums in finding even a vague solution. While seeing the other happy guys having fun firing at each other, just as if it's nothing! Moreover now seeing the grave prices dumping in selling BF2042, feeling myself completely fooled. There is nothing much to add to their notoriety EA is a blivit, indeed pays little heed to the valuable Customers and their grievances, overtly taking us as for a slow-witted people.
How can you tell people it's an issue with their anti virus? We all know it was working fine until this latest update, so its a problem with battlefield! Then you tell people to uninstall their antivirus software!!!! are you kidding me right now!?!?! i hope people see how this company is treating its fan base after spending all this money on already broken game, and have the company tell the people just delete what's keeping your pc safe in order to play our game! it doesn't work like that. I'll never buy anything that has come from EA again, this company has falling off and began to take advantage of it's player base.

When I contacted Webroot they said it was an issue on their end with EAC. They asked me to download their logging software to get some logs uploaded to their database to expedite and diagnosis and repair of the issue that you are experiencing. I assume they are not working on the weekends so I will probably;y hear back early in the week.
