@MasterBlaster73 I've disabled my Webroot and it still will not launch, so it's not Webroot preventing me from launching the game.
- MasterBlaster735 years agoRising Traveler@fidstang Did you uninstall Webroot like the posts said or did you leave it installed and just turn it off?

@MasterBlaster73 I paid for Webroot, I've had it for years, I will not uninstall it period.
I see the main issue is not Webroot, it is Easy Anti-Cheat not supporting Webroot.

EA I want my money back, how can you roll out a game with software that is not fully compatible with all antivirus software.
- MasterBlaster735 years agoRising Traveler@fidstang Just as I thought.
An update of Back4Blood had exactly the same issue with SecureAnywhere. Webroot sent me a new build of SecurityAnywhere which fixed it. Now we are having the issue again with EAC with this build of BF2042. This is not an issue with EA. It is not even an issue with EAC as no other A/V is having issues. Only Webroot is having issues. I have used Webroot for years but the truth is, they are blocking EAC. They are the only ones to fix it. This is their fault. - @EA_Barry Hey there, I don't use Webroot. Webroot has never been installed on any of my drives. I still get this issue. It'd be great if the game people have spent their money on could be able to be played without these problems and without the MAJORITY of players removing their ANTIVIRUS software that they also PAY MONEY FOR. Its kind of a ridiculous ask considering before this update, there was no issue with Webroot, or with launching the game. Please consider taking this into mind... again. I don't use it. I still have this issue 🙂

You keep pushing this on Webroot, but they did not update anything to cause this. The update came from EA and if they messed with EAC, then EAC is the problem.
I have EAC allowed in Webroot, that worked for me when I tried Squadrons and did not have any issues with Webroot.
Disabling Webroot will bypass any implementations of security settings that would prevent the game from Launching. Having to uninstall completely, tells me that EAC is the issue, identifying the anti-virus as Malware or hack. This is EA and EAC causing the problem, they needed to address this and provide fix.
Day 4, no word from EA/DICE or EAC on getting a fix or working on one. I'm requesting refund on game due to being unable to access and play as stated in warranty/terms.

I don't want to repeat my posts. Just read them and it's clear the problem is with Webroot. I'm not pushing anything. These are the facts.
1) Webroot is having an issue with EAC not BF2042.
2) Back4Blood had the same exact issue recently and Webroot fixed it.
3) No other A/V is having an issue with EAC other than Webroot.
4) All AV software is responsible to stop viruses but not stop needed programs and processes. That's what they do and Webroot is blocking EAC.
5) White listing EAC or BF2042 in Webroot does nothing. Webroot must be completely uninstalled until they patch it.
6) Read about how EAC works. It takes a somewhat unique approach to anti-cheat and is currently confusing Webroot. It seems when EAC is updated in a game, Webroot blocks it. Webroot needs to figure this out.

Just a bit of an update. I will be on the phone with a Global Escalation Manager from Webroot at some point this week. They asked me best times to call and I will solidify an appointment to speak with them. Will update here again to see if speaking directly over the phone with them can resolve the issue.

That's more than we're getting from EA.
