EAC when it updates 100% can and will conflict with SecureAnywhere. I have also been using that AV software for years without issues. Then had exactly this issue with a conflict with an update of Back4Blood which included an updated EAC. Webroot support sent me a new build which solved the problem. We have exactly the same issue here. It doesn't matter if you didn't have issues before. It seems any game that includes the newest version of EAC will cause that game to not run if SecureAnywhere is installed. I have already contacted Webroot.

If you have Webroot SecureAnywhere installed, BF2042 will not run due to a conflict with the new version of EAC. The only solution is a complete uninstall of SecureAnywhere or wait for a Webroot patch (I have already contacted them.
- @MasterBlaster73 I don't use SecureAnywhere or Webroot and still facing the issue just now after the latest update. Back4Blood runs fine for me. I'm lost
- @crnhlio a reinstall of the game, you mean?

Try to completely uninstall your AV software (If your game crashes right after the EAC screen). Then run the game.
- @MasterBlaster73 I'm using Windows Defender disabled it and it didn't help unfortunately. My game doesn't crash after the EAC loading screen. It just won't start at all with no error. That's
on Origin, on EA play it won't even get to the EAC loading screen it just says "Couldn't launch, Check your connection" - @MasterBlaster73 It was Webroot that was not letting my game launch at all but it's weird because it wasn't doing that before I don't understand why out of nowhere it started doing it.

The BF2021 patch included an updated version of EAC. Webroot did fine with the previous EAC but flagged this new version. I also ran fine before the update. This is exactly what happened with a update of Back4Blood. Webroot updated their software after that patch and the game ran fine. That will happen here also.
- Just solved the issue on my end by going to the EA Play folder and setting the launcher + app to run as an administrator, this is odd as I didn't have to do it previously but I'm glad it worked now.
Turning off Webroot does not resolve this issue... others with this issue have resolved it by uninstalling which is straight up unacceptable for a AAA title with as much * going wrong to now require me to remove a computer protection just to play.
