No damage values shown when damaging an enemy player/vehicle.

Product: Battlefield 2042

Are you using any software with an overlay? No
Which part of the game is the issue happening in? Multiplayer
Which part of the mode? Conquest

On which server did this happen? All
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) Today, all evening
Summarize your bug When damaging an enemy, I get hit markers and also some XP (if the player dies), but no damage values are shown. I searched the options menu(s) if I turned that off by accident, but could not anything related to that.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play the game, shoot an enemy.
What happens when the bug occurs? No damage values are visible.
What should be happening instead? Damage done to players should be displayed.

When playing standard multiplayer on conquest and damaging an enemy, no damage value is being displayed. Especially when trying out new guns, this is vital to judge how much damage the enemy took from an attack. Only counting hit markers (if that is possible for an SMG at all) is not enough of course, especially as the damage drop-off is not known yet and also one does not always know how far an enemy player is.

If this is not a bug but an option I turned off by accident, please tell me how to enable this again!

  • OK, it seems only 2 people had this issue so far. Therefore it is pretty clear that this is most likely no bug, but only some setting I am missing. Could you maybe point me to the place where I can enable this?

To me, this is such a vital setting, can't believe that I could not find it after what felt like an eternity reading though all the available options at least twice. 😉

I dont think this is a bug, but rather a feature intentionally left out. Which is a ridiculous decision.

There does seem to be a related but where hits on vehicles have no hit marker full stop. So its hard to tell if you have actually hit or not at long range

@Dovamark definitely not intentional as this is vital to judge how many more hits e.g. a vehicle needs. E.g. if I hit a tank with 2 rockets and do can determine that I did enough damage that it is worth running out in the open and to sacrifice myself in the attempt to kill it with another one or some C5 or if it makes me just look stupid to run out and land just another hit with the tank driver killing me (and the rest of my team).

This was available in previous iterations, it is important and unless Dice completely lost touch with what a FPS needs (except the scoreboard, which also will surely come soon, most likely in the day 7 patch this Friday), it must either already be available and I missed to option to turn it on or it is a bug just for me (otherwise other people must have clicked 'me too').
  • Even after Update #2 I am having the issue that no damage values are being displayed.

Is this a bug and will be addressed in Update #3 or is there simply a option in the settings I forgot to enable?
