Portal Editor Fails to Save: "Save was not successful"

Summarize your bug When adding or editing text it will not save. This is for both the text block and when editing the name of a rule. This seems to be affecting all players since update 3.1.2
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Create a new experience. Enter the editor. Add a literal text block and leave it blank. Save the experience and it will save successfully. Add the text "This is a test" to the block. Save the experience and it will fail. Delete the text block. Save the experience and it will save successfully. Edit the name of the rule to "This is a test". Save the experience and it will fail. Change the text back to "New Rule" Save the experience and it will save successfully.
What happens when the bug occurs? When saving an experience an error will occur "Save was not successful"
What should be happening instead? It should save correctly

Since update 3.1.2 the Portal editor will not save experiences if a user adds or modifies text in either the Text Block or the name of a Rule. When saving an error will be displayed "Save was not successful". This seems to be affecting all users and causing major issues for the Portal Community.

The issue can be replicated easily and fails every time.

To replicate the issue:
Create a new experience.
Enter the editor.
Add a literal text block and leave it blank.
Save the experience and it will save successfully.
Add the text "This is a test" to the block.
Save the experience and it will fail.
Delete the text block.
Save the experience and it will save successfully.
Edit the name of the rule to "This is a test".
Save the experience and it will fail.
Change the text back to "New Rule"
Save the experience and it will save successfully.

Hopefully this issue can be resolved soon, as mentioned this appears to affect all users.

Hi all,

A little birdie told me that this issue ("Save was not successful") should now be resolved.

Could that be correct?

@Slaffter solved my *... ran into this bug just today after making long chain of block functions for a custom server - extremely annoying

@Sulu9 Yup, after today’s update, I cannot save changes and none of my portal servers will load when I try to play them.
I get validation error messages.

I’m on PS5.

This happened before when they released the stranded map.
Whenever they add things to portal, it seems to screw with the portal builder site.

They added vault weapons in today’s update.
Wondering whether that screwed with things.

But this are definitely messed up right now.

Bumping this until we get some advice or fix
Unabme to play any of my servers or make changes to them.
It’s ridiculous that it takes days even to get a response 😡

Saves work for me with just a few blocks. But after 4 or 5 subroutines, saves start timing out half the time, then 2/3, then no joy. I am frustrated.

Absolute joke.
No response from any EA guys on here.
Not even acknowledgment of the issue.
No advice
No fix

They punt out an update that no one asked for, an update that does absolutely zero to 99% of players and then break portal in the process.

Can’t wait for the update later this month.. game probably won’t even load.

@EA_Rtas Hi mate, if you’re still present here, can you please let the devs know that the rules editor is broken since the last update.
And it is game breaking, because I can’t run my servers.

So, it’s seems the mods are deleted my threads and posts that are highlighting the issue of the porta builder/ rules editor being broken.
I’ve been reporting this game breaking issue since it happened shortly after the update.
No response whatsoever and no advice/ fix/ acknowledgment.
Meanwhile, the mods are active on the forum addressing minor issues and replying to low level threads.
This is what we can expect here.
total lack of professionalism and respect for the players that pay their wages.
what a joke.
if this isn’t sorted pretty bloody soon, I’ll kick this game to the curb.
