Re: Graphics options doesn't improve FPS or decrease it

@AssassinXDAhmed I played the game at a smooth 60FPS with a 1700X and a GTX 1070 at medium detail preset... upgrading to the 3080 FPS was 100 FPS on the same setup at high detail preset.

A newer gen CPU will help for sure, but a game PC is more than just a CPU and GPU, Battlefield series love high memory speeds, preferable dual channel DDR4 running at 3600Mhz speeds. A fast storage setup, preferably an NVME drive is a must too and all these components based on a solid motherboard with proper bios support.

For testing I had 4 setups, all based on ASUS ROG motherboards and (fingers crossed) didn't run into any of the performance and constant microstutter issues that many experience on this forum.

    @ATCleeghoofdWhat I ment is cranking up the graphics and lowering it down doesn't affect the FPS.. it stays the same either with the ultra preset or the low preset.

    I would say you still have a CPU bottleneck which is why the graphic settings are making no difference. I have a RTX 3080 and i7 12700k, and I get big differences with ultra versus low settings. The CPU rarely gets above 40% usage, the GPU sits on about 95% usage. On low settings I would average about 150fps.

    @AssassinXDAhmedI understood, but I have a huge FPS difference between low and Ultra setting on my setups. Even between high and Ultra it's about 10-25FPS in general, so I prefer to play at 140-160FPS and settle with the High detail preset...

    Fingers crossed the new patch will solve your issue as the game was perfectly playabe on the Ryzen first gen CPU here

    Afraid still a CPU bottleneck, my 12900k bottlenecks my 3090ti ☹️ sometimes GPU usage goes as low as 80%, its very sad.

  • Isn't  DDR5 your bottleneck? What happens if you disable the E(fficient cores)?

    I have no CPU issues on the 11900K with 16GB DDR4000C16 memory

    @Adamtronik I don't what to say... My 3080 reaches 70% - 95% and the CPU around 58%.
    Is this a bottleneck? Cuz I think its not that bad.

    @AssassinXDAhmed Servers are also a big issue. I noticed when the update dropped it ran butter smooth for about an hour and then plummeted after some server time had been implemented after the reset of season 2. My GPU and CPU usage in 128 player mode was going great. No bottlenecking. 100 fps on ultra. Then boom! After 2 hours it went back to 20-45fps in any game mode. The game will never run well. Ever.

    I think it sounds like your CPU is the bottleneck but you can confirm this by using the in-game console command and type “Perf.Overlay.drawFps 1”. the fps counter in bf2042 isn’t like previous bf titles, it shows a lot more information, and doesn’t show the average fps, it shows metrics specific to the GPU and CPU (any devs reading this I would love an explanation of the metrics). anyway, what the metrics do show is if either the CPU or GPU is being bottlenecked, it will change color to orange and red.

    I have a i7 12700k and get about 40% and was surprised to see my CPU turning red occasionally.

  • @Adamtronik I am running the exact same hardware as you. BUT I get around 100-120 fps with diss performance enabled on high settings. The issue I suffer massively from is the micro stutter that happens when running.
