Repair tool bugged inside helicopters

I'd understand if the flashing red and green back and forth was intentional showing you that you can only repair so fast. But this only happens in helicopters. And the fact sometimes you can't even repair, you have to look all around the inside trying to find sweet spots just so it repairs a little. Sometimes it just won't even repair. I've been playing battlefield since 1942 came out and in the games that had the repair tool i've never had this kind of problem before.

I'm hoping there is a fix soon. Honestly feel like 90% doesn't work. I'm lucky 10% of the time to find a sweet spot and even then I'm fighting to keep my repair tool in that same spot at the heli is swinging around.

Yep 100% an issue. As someone who works with pilots regularly we've had to completely alter the way we fight now, it also seems it's worse on some maps than on others.

When it works aiming the repair tool at the weapon pod from the F3 or F4 seat works perfectly, on other maps like Breakaway, Discarded etc it is useless unless you physically land the chopper get out and repair.

Please fix this as a priority as Flying Heli's and repairing as a team has become pointless.

I encounter this same repair tool issue also, but I've also noticed that the repair countermeasure you can equip to the helicopter seems to be inconsistent. I've had times where triggering does zero repair and goes on cooldown, will repair only a couple points, or repairs 10-20 points

@googieIt's absolutely bugged. When on a vehicle you can't repair at the normal rate by default, the repair rate is balanced that way. What's happening here is the repair tool is outright not repairing at all.

The fix is simple, if you have the repair tool equipped on a Heli, it should repair the Heli.

Battefield 4 had a similar issue where the repair tool would only "reach" certain spots of the vehicle. But it was tolerable there because aiming at that particular spot of the vehicle always worked. In BF2042 the spot is seemingly tiny and randomly moves around, constantly popping in and out of existence with no apparent rhyme or reason, but seemingly exacerbated by the movement of the helicopter.

It's basically like trying to thread a needle in a haystack. Absolutely not intended design. If the aim was to balance, they would lower the repair rate, not make it a frustrating hassle to use a gameplay mechanic.

I don't expect it will ever get fixed. The game's still full of more severe bugs like turning into a sliding zombie, the tank you're in phasing through the world, being unable to exit a vehicle, the jump/climb action becoming non-responsive, and whatever else I've come upon recently. One weird one is if you have a Dualsense plugged in, your view will get pointed to the ground and your mouse won't work. It's kind of impressive that the game's state is still this wonky. By the time they'll get to this repair bug we might not need computers to experience battlefield 2042.
