Return of Unable to load persistence data - Season 4
At the time of writing this, it's May 12, 2023. For about a week and half I have been unable to load a single game of Battlefield 2042 due to persistence data error. Before it was on game pass, I had purchased the game on my Xbox One, my Xbox Series S, and on my PC. I also purchased a copy for my son who plays it with me. Neither of us have been able to launch the game since April due to the "persistence data" error when trying to launch the game. In the past, when this error appeared, we could often restart the game or console and resolve the issue. However, this time, I bet we have tried to launch the game 100 times with no luck.
It happens on all platforms and for any user logged in. i have searched the web and completed all recommended actions to resolve the issue, including but not limited to: modem restart, device restart, modem test (all is good on the fiber optic - 100+MBPS). I am now waiting for the games to be reinstalled after uninstalling them, I'm not sure what else to do. What happens when you pay money for something only to suddenly be unable to play it.
This issue is absolutely on EA server side. I called my ISP and they checked out my connection and speeds and we are well over 100mbps with <9ms ping.
My son and I both have leveled up beyond the "S" levels and did it on the systems and internet that we have now. So I know our set up is worthy of the game's requirements.
