Sound crackling using wireless headphones

Product: Battlefield 2042

Platform: PC

GPU: RTX 3090

CPU i9 10900K

Memory: 64GB

Overlay: Non

Spatial Audio: No

Frequency: Constant, from Menu to Game.

Problem:

Headphone audio sounds extremely crackled. It's fine for 2-3 seconds beforee the main menu loads. Sounds extremely muffled and static. No issues on speakers.

Headphones: Apple Airpod Max

This doesn't happen anywhere else, in any game of application. The headphones are working as intended.

I believe there were issues with 16bit 44800khz in previous Battlefield games, no option to swap down to 44.1k here. So a fix is needed.

  • Heya,

You mentioned there was issues with "44800khz" which I guess was a typo and meant 48000khz given the frequency stages of audio.

The no option to switch to 44100khz seems confusing to me as that option is usually for audio devices on windows.

If you press the win key and type sound then hit enter.

Navigate to "Sound Control Panel" you can find a list of your sound devices.

Now if you right click the audio device which handles your Airpods, select properties and click the advanced tab.

There will be a drop bar which can allow you to change your audio frequency.

The range of frequencies you can select is dependent on the sound card/interface.
