Unable to launch BF2042

Hi @Confuzzo, 

I split your post off to a new thread since the original was about a different issue. 

Let's take a look and see if we can help get BF2042 back up and running. First, have you had the chance to try repairing the game in Origin to see if that helps? If you right-click on it in your Origin Library you'll see a Repair option when the menu pops up. 

Let me know if it's still crashing after that. Thanks! 

Hi Kent: I did the repair thing. No such luck, still no launch. So now what?

Looking at the DxDiag it seems like your graphics drivers are pretty out of date. When you have the chance can you try downloading the most recent drivers to test and see if that helps? You can find more info on how to download the drivers at the EA Help website.

Hey Kent: Yep, the graphics drivers are up to date. That was the first thing I did when the game didn't launch. And the drivers were up to date then. I would find it hard to believe my graphics card won't run 2042. I would consider the card to be fairly hi-end. It has a ton of fast RAM, speedy GPU. My machine easily runs BF V. I would imagine I'm not the only one with this problem. Are you having any success fixing other machines. Ok Kent, let me know. I'm chomping at the bit to play 2042!

What happens if you start up your PC in a Clean Boot before you launch the game? If there's anything else running that could be causing the launch issues that might help to get around it.

Hi Kent: I've attached a screenshot of my task manager and which programs I have enabled and disabled. This is with MS programs hidden. I haven't changed anything yet. Thought you might see something. Can't say as this current set-up has caused any issues with other BF games. I did get a fairly large update yesterday. It took several minutes to download. I thought that would fix it. But no such luck. Is there not some type of log available in-game to show the booting process?

I'm curious if there might actually be an issue with Easy Anti-Cheat that's not allowing the game to launch. Have you tried repairing or reinstalling Easy Anti-Cheat to see if that makes any difference? You can find more info on how to do so over at the Easy Anti-Cheat website.
